Welcome to the 4-star superior Wiesenhof Hotel & Spa, Pertisau, Austria.

A Slow film about one of our customers' favourite hotels: the 4* superior Wiesenhof hotel & spa, which you can visit on our "Heart of the Tyrol" holiday: www.inntravel.co.uk/holidays/...
You can also visit the Wiesenhof on many other slow trips, be that summer walking or winter walking holidays.
Your host Johannes Entner chats about the history of the hotel, its connection to The Chalet School books by Elinor Brent-Dyer, and the 'God given' location of Pertisau, on the shores of the Achensee, in Austrian Tyrol.
The magnificent Wiesenhof earns consistently high praise for the charming hospitality of English-speaking hosts, the Entner family. Dating from the 18th century, the building has belonged to the family for generations, gradually evolving from a farmhouse with a few guest rooms to a 4-star Superior Hotel of the highest quality. Despite its size and refined elegance, it maintains the aura of an intimate guesthouse. The spacious bedrooms have sweeping views over the lake or surrounding mountains,
One of the focal points of the hotel is the first-rate restaurant. The generous breakfast buffet makes an excellent start to the day, featuring a variety of breads baked on the premises; a wide choice of hams and cheeses which are sliced for you at a delicatessen-style counter; jams; honey; cereals; yogurts; Tyrolean bacon; fruit juices; and an astonishing array of teas. With soups and salad included at lunchtime, plus a complimentary snack buffet of breads and cakes in the afternoon, you will not go hungry, though you should avoid over-indulging, as the exceptional dinners are not to be missed. They start with a buffet for the first course, after which you dine from one of the four menus which are usually on offer each evening. Some are traditionally Tyrolean, incorporating mostly local produce, others might have Italian or Mediterranean influences, for example, but all are delicious!
The vast spa complex is truly state-of-the-art. It occupies the entire first floor of the hotel. Among the astonishing range of facilities are: a 60ºC herbal steam sauna that uses locally grown camomile, sage and lavender; a saline steam sauna, a Finnish sauna; a soft sauna, two relaxation rooms with views of the mountains, one of which has heated loungers; hay ‘baths’; Tyrolean shale oil baths; massages; facials and other beauty treatments; and a gym. Use of the facilities is free of charge, but you should pay locally for treatments. There is also a 25m pool in a fabulous glass and steel Art Nouveau swimming hall, the sliding doors which can be opened on warm days.
