As someone who got the left boot of fellowship from the Cof E has said, If sin is no longer sin, we have no need of a Saviour. Welby has made his denomination defunct. He reveals himself to be amongst those that Paul speaks of in Romans who imagined that sin needed to abound so that grace could abound. Grace does indeed abound to the sinner, when he repents. Repentance means agreeing with God as to what constitutes sin. When we decide what is and isn’t sin, we replace God with ourselves. Let’s hope he can face into his error, humble himself and repent.

Telling left from right, live from neutral, hot from cold, salt from sweet coarse from fine is discrimination which means to detect difference and it is not only a virtue, is is essential, but seemingly that information has yet to filter through to the Elsies(lower classes) who seem to have got it into their noddles that discrimination rather than be an essential capacity is some sort of sin.

I do hope the Archbishop of Canterbury gets to see this video. I am so disappointed in him in regards to this encounter. He had the opportunity to rebuke lies and assert God's truth...

The mistake that Archbishop Welby is making here is to think that these people represent a large number of people. They don’t, as they are extreme even by the standards of those who would like to see the church change its position on these matters. He doesn’t need to compromise with them or try to please them, and he’s never going to anyway. How to always be right: state your case, claim that any opposing argument threatens your very safety, so that if anyone even gives voice to that opposing case, they are automatically harming you and thus should not be listened to. What these people mean by being safe is never having to hear whatever they dislike. Mr Tatchell is an atheist anyway. We should call inventing truth for what it is: lying. I know, because I know this mentality well: I once identified with it. What changed? I grew up! I find it genuinely distressing that anyone who isn’t still a student behaves like this.

How did Welby ace theological college. He either surely knows the scripture about the mill stone around the neck and he's slandered one of his bishops maliciously, or he doesn't know the Bible himself and has misunderstood entirely!!

The conversion therapy ban will also stop opposition to the sexual transitioning of children via hormonal and surgical abuse. This is what was happening at the Tavistock clinic which has been closed for its reckless harming of children who needed psychiatric help with their emotional problems but were instead medicalised.

Why should conversion therapy be banned? People ASK for it.

Often wondered what these words meant, then I left the Church of England and it was explained to me that this was one of the reasons Jesus came down to earth to show what would happen on a small scale (ie his miracles) that which would happen on a restored earth, as the Heavens are now cleansed,(Revelation 12:7-12)and from Jesus prophecies we know that his kingdom is imminent.

I am thankful that God will be judging this man, Peter Tatchell. Not only is he trying to destroy Christian marriages, he is destroying lives of gay people by his extreme views. He is leading many away from living lives they were content with into more perversions of the LQBTQ... agenda, transgender adults committing suicide because it was not the answer to their mental issues, more depression, the toxic environments they live in as he feeds them the lies that religion is the main problem for them, that they can be and do anything they want. ..I have seen it happen in my own family and it breaks my heart.

It's funny how people, like Welby here, simply believe everything they hear. I would have pushed back on the fellow who claimed he felt safer in Zambia than in England. I mean, really? Then why doesn't he live in Zambia? I realize it is a tough situation psychologically when you have a mob around you (even a reasonably peaceful one), but still, I hope Welbly wouldn't just believe that statement without some skepticism.

Archbishop Welby did NOT JUST BELIEVE THEM. To the absolute contrary he sought clear evidence BEFORE he could then examine it, accept it or reject it. He was being highly respectful without consenting to anything that was being asserted by the people around him, until he could ascertain the true facts of the matter. Showing respect (politeness) does not mean consent.

I am a Christian, apart from family, our village church is the centre of our lives. I have no time for the hierarchy of the Church of England. It seems that the upper ranks of our faith have lost touch with the rest of us.

The Africans are the ones that should be rebuking us!

Racism, essentially is Division. The weeds of Division, Discord & Disparity was first planted by mankind's very first father, the very first man, who had with the very first words he spoke to his very first and then the only fellowman, forever alienated her from the God-ordained & therefore the perfect sampling of His perfect Oneness He had granted to them by ascribing to them the One Dominion (Gen 1:26 & 28), the One Name (Gen 5:3) & the One Body (Gen 2:21-22) - all of which he was to share with her. - refer Gen 2:23. That, ever since these vile weeds of Division, Discord & Disparity have continued to manifest themselves in all sorts of increasingly oppressive discrimination of tyrannical proportions was but inevitable. Racism is just one among them. Just as God has Himself testified against these evil dominions of fallen man & Satan combined (eg. Matt 12:25-26), the culmination of which will be witnessed by the entire world just as it is prophesied in Rev 13 - are irrevocably doomed to perish with themselves! Praise God!

Truth and Duty go together as do Rights & Disingenuity. The endless pushing of rights that followed the success of the civil rights movement has been busy unpicking the fabric of Western civilisation. Some sort of stand and standing point is long overdue.

The archbishop of Uganda said no such thing as 'drowning children', he simply quotes Matthew's Gospel, faithfully. By allowing this slanderous claim to be made, unchallenged, and even claiming that he did say this awful thing, Welby betrays someone he claims is a brother in Christ. Welby is openly guilty of breaking the 9th Commandment. Yes, Welby's comments are repulsive and dangerous.

you won't live in a fallen World unless you eat from the Tree of knowledge. Iniquity won't be found in you unless you eat the fruit of knowledge. You won't die in your iniquity unless you repent of the knowledge of Good and Evil. You're just not up to those standards. God wanted you to be holy righteous and perfect. By the measure of the knowledge of Good and Evil you're divided against yourself and half of everything you see is clouded and darkened that attributed to Satan. Jesus Will judge you by the measure you choose. that's Grace. Jesus Cuts Hypocrites in half and throws them into the fire that's Justice. Therefore repent and what is Twain can be made one new man, If you obey God's original and righteous command. The one you've heard from the beginning to trust God and not eat from the Tree of knowledge then you can eat from the Tree of Life. Jesus paid for the fall. Repent of the original sin. Wash yourself of the knowledge of Good and Evil with the renewing of your mind and the cleansing of your conscience. Then you can be reconciled with the father. Choose a new name for yourself you can be born again!

No surprise to find this very helpful discussion (with relevant background) via Coalition for Marriage. I have followed C4M for years, grateful for the way we are kept informed by them (and by Christian Institute) of how to recognise and stand firmly against smooth talkers who mislead far too many people.

Appealing to 'equality' or 'non-discrimination' to justify changing the definition of marriage is like appealing for equality between apples and bananas. Marriage and other sorts of partnership are two different things. Non-discrimination between them is irrelevant.

Nothing could be more discriminatory that the parable of the sheep and the goats (Matthew 25:31-46). Jesus literally says that He is going to judge the whole world and welcome some into Heaven and cast the others into Hell. What could be more discriminatory or judgmental?

@@stephenhayesuk we have all been born into sin...we naturally have the sin virus at birth and were all condemed until God provided a ransom to pay for our sins. ..by allowing His Son to take on the payment for everyone. ..Legally sins price is death. The choice to ACCEPT what has been done by Christ AND to accept Him as the true and only God AND repent our sins ...is the method to accept Christs legal ransom. If you refuse the ransom, you remain as you are , being born into sin and condemned to paying the price yourself. ...which is eternal hell. So everyone is equally born into sin and.everyones ransom has been paid BUT God gives us all a choice to accept or reject His offer of redemption. We are all treated the same..no descrimination. I hope that clears your thoughts.

@@lollypop2413 I am afraid that is theologically wrong, the Bible does not teach that. Sin isn't a virus to begin with, it's the symptom of a fallen heart, which we all have, being Adams descendants. Jesus Christ did not pay for everyone's sins, only those who are called by Him and are written in the book of life. If He paid for everyone's sins then nobody would go to hell, but He only took upon Himself the sins of the elect. You are correct in one sense that we need to accept Gods provision in Christ, but the scriptures teach that we won't, nobody would... As Jesus said, No man...No man can come unto Me except the Father draws him, and I will raise him up at the last day. The emphasis is in the word can...we cannot come to God without Him first drawing us. John 5:39-44 KJV And ye WILL NOT come to me, that ye might have life. That is not to say that we don't have a responsibility to do so...God calls us all to repent and turn to Him We do not have free will, as Adam and Eve did, our will is bent towards sin and in enmity towards God.

@@stephenhayesuk Everyone DESERVES to go to Hell, it isn't judgemental but perfectly right that we are all condemned because we are all sinners and have all broken Gods laws. It is great mercy that God saves any at all, none of us deserve to be saved, but, as it is written, God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believes in Him, should not perish, but have everlasting life. If we refuse His gracious offer, then we get what we deserve, eternal condemnation. Do we not realize the great and unfathomable price that Jesus Christ paid, for us who were His enemies? What would you think, if you knew of a condemned criminal, and you sent your only child to take his place and let him go free, and your child took the punishment, which is death...but the criminal refused that offer, but your son still took the punishment... Would you not be extremely angry at that criminal...an understatement i know...but God is angry with the wicked every day, and this is why. God is a righteous Judge to send unforgiven sinners to hell forever, and welcome into heaven all those that have put their God given faith in Jesus Christ, and know their sins forgiven and peace with God. JOHN 3:7 " You must be born again.”!

After Jesus ascended to heaven, Christian congregations were under Christ's direction by means of holy spirit - there was a governing body of appointed men (the faithful slave) and each congregation had appointment elders that would care and shepherd the 'flock' and direct the all important preaching work that Jesus assigned his disciples. - Matthew 28:19 & 20 Matthew 24:14 has to be accomplished before the end comes. - Mark 13:10 Who really is the 'faithful and discreet slave' in modern times and what is its function. How can it be identified. - Matthew 24:45 ? Only the fruitage of that 'slave' identifies Jesus' true followers, which includes being in harmony with Hebrews 10:25 and 1 Corinthians 1:10

Their argument is with God , not man .

With people like Welby, surely many in the C of E must be thinking that it is less bother to give up religion and just read the Guardian as a sign of their virtue.

I have to say that the only LGBTQ people I ever come into contact with are Anglican clergy. The C of E is certainly a gay old church. Gays are attracted to the Anglican church, particularly the high variety, like moths to a candle flame. I'm not homophobic just stating a fact.

Having read the representation of Jesus's words that is shown on the screen, I can see that much confusion has been caused by the use of gender-inclusive "them". Does it relate to the MAN to whom Jesus refers as causing the little ones to stumble, or to the LITTLE ONES themselves? (The Greek is unambiguous by the way) Had the original "him" been there, there could have been no confusion. Someone has been caused to misunderstand these words, whether it is the Archbishop of Uganda (we didn't hear what he actually said) or whether it is (wilfully) the LGBT lobbyists. As for the gender-inclusive mistranslators, in my opinion, for leading people astray, "It would be better if a millstone...." etc.

I think it’s important to distinguish between gay sex and being gay. The first is a choice, the second is not for some people.

A straight man with a tendency towards the sin of lust has a choice to struggle to not leer at women, watch pornography and sleep with prostitutes. Similarly a person prone to gambling has a choice to struggle not to gamble. A person prone to anger and violence has a choice to struggle to remain calm and peaceful. A person with homosexual tendencies has the choice to struggle against their passions and remain celibate. And all can be blessed by God through their struggle for the sake of their love of Him, both in this life, but most critically in the next, which is for eternity. And all may, and most likely will, slip up at times and fall back into sin, but if this is followed by genuine repentance and seeking Gods mercy again God is forgiving. Praise Him for His divine mercy.

One of the things that the Christian (or any defender of truth) in circumstances like this must do, is press the interlocutor on everything that is said. You can't let mobs jump around from one topic to another until you get them to lay out explicitly what they mean. This is especially important when you are on camera. I'm not saying it is easy to do, but the Head of the Church of England should know how to do that.

The church does not have the authority to redefine marriage or sin and is not judge of either. Gods Word stands forever even if man rewords it for modern day living, His Word stands. It’s so easy to misquote to people who don’t understand scripture and those that do, should explain. Further, it makes no sense to change laws if people can’t abide by them, but rather make the laws clearer so that people understand them. We must wonder why it is so important for non believers to have the scriptures of believer changed so that they, the non believers, should be more included.

The normal term for “same sex” couples is ‘ Homosexual’. It means the same ,but it is more succinct.

If the CofE moves toward extending the concept of marriage to facilitate same sex marriage then it would be a matter of time before polygamy, and any other ideas people present with as their preference, will be demanding parity of esteem.

Thank you both for this. It is time for us to get off our seats and go out into the streets to preach the true gospel of the Kingdom of God. We can no longer rely on our shepherds. Let the sheep tell the sheep that we are all sinners and fall short of the glory of God. We all need a Saviour to set us free from our fallen, disobedient, rebellious, wilful, sinful human nature which all descendents of Adam and Eve have inherited. JESUS is that Saviour. He died once and for all sinners and the time has come for all sinners everywhere to repent of their sins and turn back to God who is faithful and just to forgive if we confess our sins. Homosexuality is a sin like adultery is a sin, abortion/murder is a sin, stealing is a sin, lying is a sin, covetousness is a sin and dishonouring God is a sin. How can we honour God and glorify Him when we don't even know and teach His Truth???? It appears that the Head of the Church of England has no idea what the Word of God teaches. God forgive him for he is a great sinner. He needs to turn back to God and seek Him where He can be found. In the Scriptures. Amen The Archbishop and his supporters must repent for the Kingdom of God is at hand. Likewise the LGBTQ+ supporters in the church. How can you be a Christian and deny Christ??? The Scriptures are all about HIM. He is the Head of the Church not the Archbishop of Canterbury. The church is the Body and Bride of Christ. The Body and Bride are called to be faithful to the Marriage Covenant and the Bridegroom. I pray with all my heart that they all repent and turn back to God. I've always understood marriage to have a mystical aspect, to be a 'union of opposites' - hot/cold, high/low, dry/wet and so on. So marriage between male and female makes sense, but not same sex marriage.

Jordan Peterson made some amusing comments about marriage being between persons who find each other repelling. The audience laughed because they recognized their own relationship in this. It is a common devise in romantic comedy is have the male and female leads to conflict before coming together. Marriage is always a matter of reconciling differences. None are more profound than between men and women. Hence the foolishness of easy divorce laws.

It is perfectly reasonable to discriminate. In fact it is essential to discriminate. The word discriminate has been deliberately hijacked. One should discriminate in favour of something and one should discriminate against something else. Discriminating in favour of marriage between one man and one woman is moral, ethical and essential. The Archbishop would be far better advised not to engage with those who bear false witness.

Any deviation by a church from the teachings of God as stated in the Bible makes that same institution no longer a church.

Justin Welby needs to step down. He is NOT worthy to lead the body of Anglican worshippers. Why did he not correct the comment regarding the NOT drowning of babies but the protection of children by Jesus own words. Truly shocking.
