Appeals to complexity and nuance in relation to primal issues like abortion almost always mask an absence of principle. And if there's one thing conspicuously lacking in the CoE it's any clearly defined principles whatsoever.

To summarise, if the situation of the mother is not ideal or is complicated, she could and maybe should consider abortion. Children conceived in rape can be punished for the sin of their fathers, yeah? Then he says children are not commodities to be hated but human beings to be loved. So human beings to be loved can be sometimes killed, in complicated circumstances. Relativism in pure form. Is the Anglican Church still Christian?

Evee What about the people who cheered and lit up the Empire State Building when Cuomo signed his pro abortion bill? It used to be that pro choice people at least pretended that they were sad when they felt they were forced into an abortion, but no more. Increasingly they are claiming to be proud of offering abortions and women are urged to be happy for their abortions.

Evee If you’ve decided not to believe then there’s nothing I can say, but for those who do believe, guilt is a grace given to lead one to repentance for sin, and will remain until one acknowledges one’s sin and confesses. No one can make a person feel guilt. That is God’s territory. Christians want to show people the antidote. God gives us freedom to choose but also tells us what the proper choice is. He is showing us the way to heaven with Him.

Evee Sounds like you don’t understand what repentance is, but yes, God will forgive anyone who is truly sorry, but you do need to be truly sorry. Repentance means to come to understand that what you did was wrong and to wish you had never done it and to resolve never to do it again. Making a mockery of it doesn’t count and God does know your heart. He can’t forgive you if you are not sincere. If you are pretending you may fool other people, but you can’t fool God. And it’s interesting that you are using murder in your mocking question, because abortion is murder.

I find this absolutley disgusting. His response in a nutshell is having a child is the ideal but mothers who cannot go through with a pregnancy should be loved and cared for. They "are not a commodity to be hated". So that's it. If a baby has to be killed we should just be loving and understanding. Presumably he would therefore support the decriminalisation of abortion. The nub of his answer is he supports abortion despite admitting it is not the view of Christians.
