Regarding the Marble Machine, the guy who made it is a Swedish musician named Martin Molin. His band is Wintergatan and you can find his channel by that name. He's been making a new marble machine that's an engineering masterpiece for the past two-plus years (it has like 10,000 individual parts--not exaggerating). He's actually a phenomenal musician and can play a few dozen different instruments (including a few he's made himself besides the marble machine). His channel is very worth watching; he uploads nearly every Wednesday showing the process of building his new marble machine which he hopes to finish very soon and start touring internationally with it next year. As for different songs, there's a programming wheel. It works similarly to a music box where there are programming pins he can put in to make different songs. The originally had to be done manually for each song, but the new one has detachable wheel pieces that can be easily removed and replaced so they can play different songs already set up with pins in the wheel pieces. Check out his channel guys. He's a bloody genius (a literal one, not a figurative one).

When I first saw Martin, it was the original Marble Machine vid as seen above. A real life Dr. Suse character and real life Dr. Suse Whatsa-whos-it Machine. Star Machine and All Was Well are my favorite. Also, I love on Wednesdays Martin would put something ugly AF on the MMX and a week later, 'We are changing the design." The MMX is so beautifull and I think the rythem machine and time clutch are my favorite elements of the MMX.

He's a musical and mechanical genius and what he's cooking up now will blow what you saw out of the water. Plus it'll be easily changeable so they can bring it on stage during their world tour and play a number of songs with it. I can't wait! The prototype shown here was actually put up in a museum for a while.

8:39 Wintergatan! The marble machine actually has a new and improved version being produced, so you can see how much effort and calculations goes into production of the machine! It’s very cool, really recommend you check it out. Another cool instrument (if this video gets a part 2) would be the Bell tower that is literally a giant pseudo-piano (but bells instead of strings)

I've seen historical examples of leaf playing in several cultures, it's actually beautiful to me. Not so much the sound as much as the simplicity that impresses me. I imagine the leaf was the first instrument that used mans breath... Ancient.

Leaf musician here!!! For those who plays woodwind, it's basically equivalent to just playing the head of your instrument. The leaf is like the reed, and by blowing it in different direction(creates different air flows)gives it different sounds. For selection of leaf.....well it doesn't matter really. Any leaf, as long as they are not too soft is playable, or it will breaks under pressure of stream of air coming out of mouth. My father taught me how to do it with willow's leave so thats the one I know...

9:10 Funnily enough, the guy is actually rebuilding that machine, but this time making it better and able to last. He has been on that journey for years now, and it seems like he is getting close to completing it. The guy is from a band called Wintergatan and he uploads the series to his band’s KZread channel. In this version, it was programmed using LEGO pins in a similar way a to a punch card music box.
