We really just have one goal - to make your food life better. Ok that, and be entertained at the same time. And have you learn a few things along the way. So let’s make it 3 goals then.
If you only want the steps to make something, like those vids shot from above with no people, no conversation no nuthin - then we are absolutely not for you. But if you wanna a little fun while you learn, then this is the place.
Cooking doesn’t have to be hard, it just has to be delicious.

THANK YOU ❗️

Lmfao. Imagine hosting a dinner party for a bunch of people and you just start pulling bags of steak out of the dishwasher 😂😂😂

That's what came to my mind after watching this video. 20 or 30 steaks would easily fit in an typical dishwasher.
Dishwasher sous vide is a thing, as is drink cooler sous vide. Just drop a bunch of vacuum packed steaks in a cooler, dump in hot water, keep topping it off as it cools. I used that method to cook 25 steaks one weekend, over the course of a few hours. I maybe dumped in 3 or 4 fresh pots of boiling water in it. Came out amazing.

Sam did that recently on his channel as well.
I used your superb spatchcock turkey recipe for Thanksgiving last year. Could you do make ahead sides, so I can do everything early, then just concentrate on the turkey and enjoy my guests?
Id love a Thanksgiving episode on baked stuffing/dressing. Sam's version of Stove Top.
my wife and I love your channel and we had a good laugh watching this video!!
You can actually cook a steak in the microwave if you use a browning plate. I used to do cheeseburgers at work with one.
This is so crazy! Two days ago I saw a clip of Vincent Price cooking fish and zucchini in a dishwasher on Johnny Carson, and of course it worked. Yeah, so this isn’t new. The show aired sometime in the 70s. 😮

I remember that! I love Vincent Price ❤
Sam and son's learn...the internet is fake click-bait.

Isn't fake click bait an oxymoron or The Truth?
@Theexplorographer
10 ай бұрын
No not at all. Fake...is making something up. Click-bait is showing you a big set of H00ters and then giving you a couple of Owls setting on a fence. In click-bait, both things are real. Just not what you expected. Fake is something completely fabricated. I think things are a little more intricate that you are thinking.@@probegt75
I'm totally trying that dish washer sous vide thing. Thanks for sharing.
I agree with " the popcorn setting" comment! This one just hits another level! Talented folks!
I love all the the woodgrain pats around your kitchen.
I do know from experience, you can "cook" your lunch if it is in a can or wrapped in aluminum foil on the exaust manifold of your older vehicles. Im a truck driver, and fir years hested my lunch in the turbo on the hot side of the piping. The key is make sure you put a small hole in the lid to vent. And if wrapped in foil, just set near the manifold. If not it will burn it. But if you want to prank a new guy, omit the part about the vent hole....the can will go boom. Yes its funny as you would think.
Hey Sam!! love your videos... I keep seeing Fusion videos from other cooking channels like Sorted food and Guga. Keep thinking that you will blow them out of the water. You literally do a lot of Cuisine Fusion already. I bet will become a cool video series!!!
That's the funniest episode since the One Chip Challenge!
That was a good one!!! 4-1 !!! But the dishwasher sous vide is an excellent idea, especialy for a tomahawk steak that I will try next time. I think the long cycle will be perfect, around 2 hours, considering the thickness of the monster. Thanks from Montreal (at the oposite of Vancouver)
What is the advantages of souvee over just a hot cast iron fry ??
You guys need to do more things like this, it's fun :D
Hey Sam getting lemons is not a bad thing it's what you do after getting them as always you ran with it I enjoy anything y'all doing with food pls keep it coming! 😊👍✌️
Greetings from Naples, Florida. Oh, my, that looks so delicious. Great presentation. Great video!! Thanks so much for sharing with us, have a great weekend. 👍💯
Nice experiment, I leanered that I'm going to continue to use my Weber.
Reminded me of an episode of Home Improvement where Tim kept trying to cook fish in the dishwasher.
Honey move the dirty glasses in the dishwasher, I’m cooking tonight! 😂😂😂😂
All the videos just dropped at the same time aaaaaahhhhh
"The popcorn setting" is going to be an STCG legend now.
We once warmed up hot dogs near the light bulb in a tiny woodland cabin. (Overhead light, so some creative rigging was needed)!
Lemons, Rosemary, butter and Salmon, 2x wrapped in foil, will dishwasher cook beautifully, and on a normal cycle. Have done it for dinner parties - guests are blown away as I have them come 'get their dinner' and open the dishwasher.
I clean my dishes in the washing machine...they come out so clean and you end up with more!
FYI The dishwasher is one of the most inefficient appliances in the home
I'd like a Thanksgiving episode about low calorie options for sides.
Was not expecting this video to make me laugh as hard as it did.
I was using my Crockpot that has a Keep Warm setting. I felt that temp and I wondered if that could be used as a Sous Vide. Do you know if it can?
Toaster oven!!! Took a fajita skillet, cut the handle off to fit in the oven, preheated the skillet in the toaster oven @ 400 for 5 to 7 minutes. Had a relatively thin Rib Eye steak, seasoned and put on the skillet and into the toaster oven for 4 - 6 minutes, smoked the kitchen up, but sear and flavor were really good.
I know wrapped fish in the dishwasher turns out perfect.. butter, lemon & dill... mmmm
My dishwasher is going to become real handy this Thanksgiving now lol

That's exactly what I'm going to do lol
Remember that episode of Home Improvement when Tim poaches a fish in the dishwasher? 😂😂
I have cooked chicken in a microwave for two hours or so, occasionally turning it over in the dish. The final result was amazingly done and delicious.
Haha great video as always and interesting
I’ve watched you for so long but after watching what you have done to these lovely cuts of steak I don’t think I can no longer continue 😢
So funny! Haha, I love that you guys a) try new and different things, and b) fully admit it when you fucked up!
Always read the fine print. Everything you see is not always true but thank you for entertaining us! Also, I'm curious if the dishwasher uses less water than the Sous Vide? You might have something. 😉
Wow I can’t believe how early I am!! Love your videos ! ❤
I was surprised to see no seasoning before cooking & the addition of butter. We season, vacuum and freeze our steaks then pull out and sous vide when we want them. We've never added butter to a ribeye.
Just got my raycon earbuds last night. Bought the fitness ones and once I found the right size ring and tip for me, they were great and I could listen to my horror podcasts all night at work. I bought these based solely on your recommendation alone.
Best video STCG has put out!! Hand down.
Wish I knew what that black round thing is that is so cool
That was fun and funny!
The microwave April fools steak is priceless.
Guys. Try doing something with cattle drive chile to make it better.
I'm going to try the dishwasher.
Season with salt & pepper before placing in bag. Sear with a plumbers torch not on the stove. Pro tip, spray on a light "I said LIGHT" coating of liquid smoke, then salt & pepper, then place in bag and sous vide.
You guy's are genius!
If you use a microwave, use the keep warm setting tell temp, turning every 5mins, searing needs good ceramic or stone, preheat stone/ceramic and place steak back on superheated plate until proper searing, reheat repeat. You'll be surprised. Now if you have a toaster oven microwave combo, the proper settings should be shown in directions, but broil will do the searing
I saw Vincent Price the actor cook fish in a dishwasher well over 60 years ago on one for the tv talk shows back then
The 2nd steak looked great. Salmon steaks or filets do fantastic in the dishwasher too.
Yeah, it was a joke but it was a fun video! I've heard of people cooking fish in the dishwasher, why not a steak? Might just try it for the heck of it now! Thanks, Sam!
Can you test more things in the dishwasher? I saw someone cook a salmon filet in one and thought there was no way. I need to verify their results but salmon is expensive for me to test.
Regional recipe idea: Jagerschnitzel with spatzle, please. Like they used to make at the Ox Yoke Inn in Amana Colonies, Iowa. You'll thank me.
There are browning plates for microwave also a browning wrap I've made hamburgers using them
One of your best videos ever! Made me laugh!
Dishwasher best for whole salmon poaching / steaming
My wife says I absolutely CANNOT use the dishwasher to cook our steak...so I'm definitely gonna 🤣🤣🤣
Ugh this is giving me flashbacks to that one show where a very frugal lady makes a lasagna in her dishwasher
I've definitely raised bread in the dishwasher.....
the fun of STCG from many years ago. I miss that. Hate the endless burgers and sandwiches of late...
i cook in the microwave all the time steaks and hamburger patties just keep flipping and adding time til it is cooked through
The boys FINALLY kinda get they’re live mics!

@Official_samthecookingguy....🍻
This was so much like kids doing a folk tale science experiment, after school one day! Just about as much fun as a barrel o' minkeys! With some tender yummy steak as a bit of reward at zee end! Inspector Clouseau and Kato would be so proud!
Maybe try a wireless probe in the dishwasher one?
Did you make tide pods as a side? How low can you go?
I ordered some Japanese Mayo. Let’s see if it’s any good lol
0 I'm for the cast iron skillet all the way! Did like the dishwasher steak idea though.. 😎
I like to wrap sausage dogs or hot dogs in foil and put on exhaust side so I can hot lunch in the woods when I'm out and about
Sous vide keeps the water at a steady ~130 degrees F and circulating to properly cook a steak. The dishwasher will heat the internal temp hot enough to turn the water to steam and practically sterilize the contents. I don't think it would turn out well.
I have not seen anyone cook a lamb brisket. Could you please cook one?🙏🙏🙏
Sam, what cutting board do you use outside?
Sup Sam, loved it, laughed so hard, brother and I made big NY strip in microwave years ago on mother's microwave corning ware browning pan and was good, not great lol. My brother saw the dishwasher sous vide on internet last year, tried it lol, 2 cycles later and minute on grill each side, wasn't bad, have I done since? NO 😂🤣, tyvm tc 🥩 Wow your dishwasher is hour and half👍, brothers like 35 min cycle? It's an oldie but goodie 🥺
Along the same line.Few years ago I noticed my oven light had been on all night. checked the temp with a thermometer . 130F with two oven lights Since then I have done three 6 bone prime ribs. Last Christmas 26 hours in the Susie Bake Oven.....Transported to party and finished in a 500F oven until the smoke stated pouring out ...about 10 minutes......Rave reviews. My go to method from now on

sounds great. Look forward to your site always. Just an old guy from Sandpoint,Idaho. @Official_samthecookingguy....
What if you used low power microwave or defrost to get to 120-130 through out and then seared it? I still wouldn't wanna, but would it work?
I prepared and served meals for a forest fire. We would wrap all kinds of things in foil and the fire crew would place the food under the truck hood to warm it up.
“Did you run the dishwasher” “It’s not full” “Throw some steaks in there and run it”
the best April Fools jokes are the ones where it gets people months or years later XD
Make some toffee apples (candy apples) for Halloween 🎃
For the dishwasher steak was that on heavy duty or regular wash? =)
I remember my 1st day using the internet!!
Okay! Seriously! Some of us want to see some "Car-B-Que" action! 😂🤣😂
Thanks
Don't got a suesvidy or how ever you spell it but I have a food dehydrator that gets to 165 and can be set to run for days. I took a kc strip threw it in a ziplock with some spices and thru it in and let it go for 3 days. It actually worked and came out very tender. It increases the effect of dried spices like 400% so with stuff like garlic only use 1/4 what you normally would.
You can cook salmon in the dishwasher also
Requesting soup week. Any soup except chicken noodle
You might try a non microwave safe plate… like ceramic, that gets hot AF…. I say this only bcuz I think it would be like cooking on a flat top maybe… it wouldn’t just cook from the edge in… who knows lol.
Reading is fundamental lol
This was funny!
You definitely didn't lie! That was an unexpected result!!
Watched this earlier and didn't really think about the microwave not working. Then got pissed. Some guy out there loves steak but his partner won't let him cook them in apartment cause sucky vent hood and fire alarm goes off. He goes out and spends $35-$50 on a couple of nice ribeyes and ends up w that. Alternatively, think you need to try it one more time. My microwave lets you select power rating on a timed cook. Maybe put it at 30 or 40% power for 10 to 15 minutes and see how it's doing. Had microwave that started as soon as you selected popcorn. Have to hit start on the one I have now. It's still a great video. You guys always show the human side
Love the video, but I'll stick with my Sam's 12 in cast iron skillet, thank you. 😅😅😅😅❤❤❤❤
Your searing of the dishwasher steak is basically my entire cooking process, no need for the dishwasher.
My dad always swears by cooking a whole salmon in the dishwasher!
When you immediately start saying no! No! No! Sam no! And your coworkers start staring at you 🤣
@sam The popcorn program on you're microwave runs, is on high power and "listens" for the popping of kernals. If it does not detect popping within a predetermined amount off time it shuts off. When actually popping corn, and the popping sounds slows down to less than 2 seconds apart the processor realizes it can not hear popping and it shuts off to avoid burning the popped corn
🤔 how about doing sous vide in a dehydrator?
