    Some suggestions: The miracle of Empel: 200 ships vs a Spanish infantry tercio. The ships surrounded the Spaniards who were on a river island and were asked to surrender. The reply? Spanish soldiers prefer death to dishonor. We will talk about surrender after death. One of the few examples of infantry winning a naval battle. It was considered a miracle because that very night there was a cold snap and the river completely froze. The Spaniards casually walked over to the enemy ships and killed everyone. The battle of Krasni Bor. 4500 Spaniards vs 38000 soviets with 90 tanks and 1000 artillery pieces. The Spaniards won. The battle of Cagayan: 40 Spaniards vs 1000 samurai. The Spaniards won.

    Actually they have proven that English arrows couldn't pierce French armor at the time of agincourt. The arrows still wreaked havoc by killing horses and knocking knights off their horses. They ended up in a confined muddy space and then were sitting ducks for the English.

  • @Cyricist001

    @Cyricist001

    Not even that, horses were also usually armored and are big beasts full of muscle. Because of the stakes the knights couldn't advance so they retreated but doing so exposed the unprotected horse rumps, which were pelted by arrows, the injured horses then stampede over the French footsoldiers.

    @@Cyricist001 not all horses were armored and in some accounts I'm reading only the horses head was armored. And remember knights had to supply their own armor at their own expense so some had better armor then others. Looking at paintings of the battle what I'm seeing is the same thing, some horses have armor some don't. Everything I read by all accounts is that the French knights were knocked off their horses by bodkin and flat arrows and due to the wet conditions became mired in mud. Soon they were exhausted and could barely move.

    @@charlessanders Head, neck and the chest area is all that's needed to protect n a horse without encumbering it. It makes for good protection unless flanked. Strange, from what I know the mounted knights retreated (not all, there were of course fatalities) after their charge didn't pass the sharpened stakes and defenders. The Genoese crossbows were killed by the French, either while retreating or as some claim in retaliation because their crossbow strings got wet and couldn't engage the English. The infantry that made the bulk of the French was then slaughtered in the mud, often by daggers through the visor.

    @@Cyricist001 I'm not arguing against any armor being effective. I'm only saying not all French knights had armored horses. Armor was incredibly expensive. Yes a lot of English archers them went in with their daggers and killed the French as they lay in the mud which angered a lot of the wealthy English as they were losing ransoms.

    The Battle of Didgori was fought between the armies of the Kingdom of Georgia and the Great Seljuq Empire at the narrow place of Didgori, 40 km west of Tbilisi, on August 12, 1121. Seljuks entered Georgia with 350, 000 troops, and all 350, 000 of them died. Georgian Kingdom defended with 90, 000 troops, Seljuks outnumbered Georgians, but still lost the war, but how? How did small Kingdom like Georgia won war against one of the largest empire? King David, divided his troops, half of the Georgian army was gone, so Seljuks laughed when they saw small army like this, little did they know what was going to happen to them. Seljuks attacked, Georgians defended with divided army (45, 000 troops) this is when another 45, 000 arrived and attacked Seljuks from behind, Seljuks were surrounded, Georgians were attacking from every side, only 100 Seljuks survived, all of them got enslaved, this is how clever king David was, he used logic and brain.
