    I've had these eggs and came down to comment on them too. You can sometimes find them in an Asian market in my home city. It's not my cuppa tea, but they aren't nearly as bad as people might think. There's a very strong, almost chemical taste to them but they go really well with pickled ginger.

    Yeah, it seems basically like worcestershire sauce, agreed. It would still be cool if that recipe could be re-created though, it must have a milder taste because no way would I use worcestershire sauce as a dip!

    I've bought them from my local Korean grocery store and they are bland. I had to eat them mixed with ramen and other ramen dressings

    Garum? No thanks, I'll stick with A-1 or ketchup. Fugu - keep it, I've never had fish I liked to start with and won't be tempted by one that if the preparer gets distracted during preparation I'll be the one paying the ultimate price.

    my latin teacher in school once told us that he actually tried a recreation of garum and said it just tastes really salty and smells like any other fish sauce, but like fermented fish does sound really smelly hahaha
