Pro performance coach Alan Stein reveals a strange series of acceleration drills that train your body to stop and start on a dime, no matter what position you find yourself in.
They're especially powerful for increasing first step speed and making you a more dangerous slasher on the perimeter.

Coach, I think from the seated position while you facing the court, to make a faster acceleration would be more affective if you could spin your legs back. In this case you will be in a kind of a sprinters position, which will make acceleration more faster, and also, it's much more safer for knees. What to you think? share your thoughts

Sounds good. Some of these drill videos are a baseline or a starting point, we'll never cover EVERYTHING, it's impossible. But if watching this video gave you ideas of additional drills or variations of these drills, then, by all means, put them to use and see how your body reacts. - Joe @ TeamEGT

I have a question EGT. should you do like physical training (ex: speed, upper body, jump training) in the morning before school than after school do skill workout during the evening or switch it around.

You're not going to like my answer; practice. Get a friend and have them guard you (AT GAME SPEED) and practice every variation you can think of. Ask your friend to play super tight defense and even foul you, your job is to take the contact and MAKE the layup. - Joe @ TeamEGT

If you're more advanced, sure, give it a shot and see how your body reacts. 8-12 per side, 2 times through and adjust from there.

now alan Stein said I need to do elite speed training immediately before upper body or EJT and before my skill workout so does that mean I cant do my performance workout at 5 am before school and my skill workout at 3:30 pm after school since the time is so apart.

You should play your game. I understand idolizing or modeling after someone proven, but those players you mentioned are two of the best small guards to ever play. Develop your game and constantly improve your weaknesses and then see what type of player you are. - Joe @ TeamEGT

+The Dank Engine, EGTX and EGTX 2.0 are techniques and mind sets you'll use for the rest of your life. It's not just about basketball, it's MUCH bigger. Take those lessons and incorporate them into your daily life outside of basketball as well. Doing so can help see the improvement on the court. - Joe @ TeamEGT
