Weird and Wonderful Rural Khon Kaen Thailand.

From an elaborate temple to drying out rice, I go for another short drive around rural parts of Khon Kaen and visit a few more places I have never been to before in weird and wonderful rural Khon Kaen Thailand.
Video #51. Welcome to the latest video for my channel ‪@KhonKaenDen‬. In this video, I drive around a few new areas in Khon Kaen once more that I have never visited and come across a few interesting things, including a cool temple, a seriously over complicated water system, drying out rice, a few animals... and a few terrible jokes. Yeah, very busy farmers who made me feel sooooooooooo lazy!!! They stand in the sun all day working. Not always super fast but it is like water off a duck's back. Five minutes in direct midday Issan sunshine and I am like sun-dried pork. Awesome and tough people! Thanks once again for your inspiring words, Ally. People like you keep me going! Den!

possibly the best deal on pad kapow in LOS. Nice to know some people are not greedy. Lots of meat there and good helping size.

Just a tip : Rides4kicks and Johny there is something happening and Geoff Carter are doing a little bit the same but of course in Pattaya or Hua Hin are more events and locations with special activities. Just Walking or riding around and pick up the attractive items.

im from Australia, those birds are babies I would say 80/20 they are Emu, at young age they look the same but I am confident they are Emu's, when you go out in the bush and at twighlight hunders come out with the Roo's

It looks like the temple used for ordination of monks, a Ubosot or Bot. Each corner is important, I believe it contains a sacred stone. Also you can see the Naga (dragons) guarding the stairs to the hall. Actually the brown wooden design looks slightly similar to the all wooden Sancturary of Truth in Pattaya City; but that is not a buddhist temple per say, more a museum.

Ahhh, OK. Very interesting. I have little understanding of the temples etc. of Thailand but I love looking at them. You could well be right that it is not a temple as such for the public... hence why the doors were closed! Still, stunning building all the same! Thanks so much for sharing. I will hopefully find many more temples like this in the area! Cheers, Den.

Hi Ken like your latest I went for my usual run but decided to go rural. After defending myself from the local dogs packs I came across beautiful scenes and a temple. Had difficulty walk around as I was surrounded by security (dogs). I went past a school watched for a while at a distance before heading back about 20ks in all but great for the mental health seeing Thailand this way . Doing anything for "loy Krathong" ? , take care.

Brilliant!!! It is the sort of thing I am doing now... just get out and in different directions. Yeah, the dogs can be a pain but most are actually scared of you... at least in Isan. I actually try to help them if I can but it isn't ideal. But I love animals. As you say, getting out there and seeing new stuff, no matter what it is, is cool. Keep it up, fella! Loy Kratong... yeah, will be going to the university and making a video on it... massively popular here. What about you? Take care and speak soon. Keep your awesome and positive comments coming! Cheers, Den.

@@KhonKaenDen you should make a video about how to approach/manage dog packs in rural Thailand. Some of those packs have dodgy outlaw vibes...

I am curious Den, did they not add chili purely because you are farang? Good assumption on their part I guess. Love what you do for the dogs ❤👍

Fair question. I was actually over the road watching that annoyingly really, really loud machine pooh out hay. When I got back, my food was there already and I forgot to ask for spicy... so YES, farang... he can't eat spicy haha... they don't know me (but the lady who made my food joined my channel and I showed her some of the really spicy food I eat. She was shocked haha). Sadly, I ca't find their little restaurant on Google Maps... but I WILL return and save the GPS location as they were so nice but shy. Cheers, Den.

I thought they beep their horn as a sign of respect when they go past significant temples. Hopefully someone may be able to add additional information. Thanks.. Baby Ostrich, far too smart for an emu..

Yes, I fully agree. According to my wife (just asked her following reading your comment), it is their way of waiing the temples (or things they respect) as they can't physically wai with their hands as they are driving or on a bike but still want to show respect! Cool. I did not know this and will mention it at some point soon. Thanks a million for bringing this up! Learn something every day! Ostrich! I will believe you! No idea how to split them... but will take your word on it haha. Thanks a million for sharing, Den.
