Welcome to the worm hole! I bought my first PCP about 12 years ago when I couldn't get 22lr ammo. They are addictive, unlike a standard rifle where you have to find what works, you can tune them to work with most any ammo. It's definitely a blast to tinker with!

Hi Erik, You might consider getting a Weirauch HW100 because its designed to prevent loading 2 pellets. I was using an FX Dreamline for a while to practice PRS around the house, but tired of that very quickly because in PRS we move with bolt open. With an air rifle the bolt stroke is so short that I frequently double stuffed the chamber. Eventually I switched to the HW100 and would never go back. The mags on the Weirauch HW100 are genius because they prevent pellet skirt deformation. Make sure you don't get an FSB model tho... FSB is full shrouded barrel. You want the solid steel barrel. Accuracy is crazy good, but more than than, the trigger is as well and you cannot double feed pellets as a bonus that few other rifles may offer. I put mine into an Aeron chassis that has worked out quite well.

Your finding out how picky that pellet rifles are. Pelletgauge has a tray to sort for head size, which will eliminate flyer’s. Every pellet has a velocity range it like’s typically between 860-880 fps. In zero wind, that gun should hit a fly at 50 yds once you find what it likes. If you have not tried the JSB 25 grain pellet, you really need to

Eric, the reason for waiting between shots in a reg'd AG is not the same reason as waiting in a firearm. You see, the reg has to settle between shots. A good reg can do it in 15-20 seconds Others take as long as 30 seconds. Also, fire at least two shots after a fill or top off to again, settle the reg. Our mutual friend can tell you who I am and my AG history. I'm known as the Knife Maker. I was on the forefront of designing/testing and making slugs for long range in PCP's. I think you would like them!Even though conventional wisdom said that hp's could not perform in AG's make for myself HP's that literally explode in vermin. Violently! I do follow your shooting exploits in firearms. Impressive!!! KnifeMaker

Been a shooter most my life. Powder burners. I love my rimfires. Started getting into more precision shooting with my centerfire rifles. Got into PCPs about 4 yrs ago. It reminds me of bow hunting. Tuning your bow to certain arrows, overdraw or no overdraw, different flight systems. They can be temperamental, but if you mess with them and get them tuned right, with the right ammo, they are a freaking blast. That gun needs to be tuned. Your speed makes a huge difference with pellet accuracy. Most try to get it around 880 if I believe correctly. Maybe try a few more types of pellets, maybe slugs, and you could be stacking lead at 100 yards.

My parents allowed me to go there. By 18-19 my Mother(Father aprooved) got me my first shotgun. But the important part was I target shot almost every day with the air gun, and learned control. Absolutelly important when you upgrade to 22LR and high power rifles. Shotgunning a dif sport. You don't aim at a target, you point ahead of the target. Bird hunting allowed in Holland. I have a FX MK2 in .30 caliber, watch videos about tuning the gun, you need to set regulator pressure, hammer spring and valve opening and get one hole groups before you put on your tuner. P.S. I have your tuner on a Vudoo 360 .22LR and it WORKS. Tuning your gun first is equal to load development.

Those rifles have a regulator. You should be able to get at least 3 mags, before the pressure falls off the regulator. Check the ES. The tricky thing is the ballistics with the pellets. They are quite droppy. Things work best if you keep them subsonic. ~900 fps. is a good starting point.

BUT if you wait the same amount of time between each shot * no matter the time interval* that SHOULD not matter as much, as the pressure in behind the valve in the plenum should be the same...so... Good point/comment. Additionally, i don't think it's necessary to refill the bottle after only 12 shots as Eric did between the 2 different batches of pellet. Unless the gun is unregulated, which i seriously doubt. All these modern high end PCP air rifles that have a regulator, will give very consistent shot performance regardless of the tank/bottle pressure, UNTIL the pressure in the bottle drops to the level that the regulator is set at.

If you’re going to do most of your shooting at 50 yds stay with pellets. If you’re going to go 100 yds and beyond then you’re going to have to experiment with slugs. The JSB Match sorted pellets take a lot of the time and work of sorting out for just a little extra money.

Over the years you have probaly found one gun likes a given load where another copy of the same gun doesnt like that load. Also you have found a gun can shoot many different loads shoot well or one that shoots ok with most loads but one load shoots much better. Air rifles are no different. It takes just as much load development with air as it does with powder.

Bahahahaha... welcome to airguns... weight sorted, sized, crimped and primed... for what its worth nothing ive tried works past a good tune... around 900fps for pellets. Same as 22lr... maybe i moght be as so bold but ive had great results with jsb (rredesigned monster) and also HandN both pellets and their slugs. My barrel is a bit picky but the HandN 25gr .218 seemed to be the best

Hi Erik, you might find this interesting. You perhaps could build a new airgun specific tuner. Could be very lucrative as there are millions of air rifles out there. kzread.info/dash/bejne/gpqKxNVvqsmWn8o.html
