I’m not usually a fan of romance books that pack trauma in on both of the characters. I feel like it always gets sorta watered down in a weird way 🫤

Especially when it’s jammed packed in the later part of the book to cause the big conflict. 😕 it usually takes away from the romance, and I’m more likely to be critical because the handling of the resolution always takes me out of the story. Tbf thought I’m only starting to get into romance now, so anything that annoys me stays with me the rest of the story lol

But funnily enough, you touched on the ONE major issue I had with it to, I still gave it 5 stars because the ~vibes~ were 5 stars for me and i finished it in like 1 sitting, but the Amber/Emma relationship devolved a little bit in the latter part and lost a bit of the nuance portrayed at the beginning. I can imagine that coming from more personal experience it would be a lot harder to just look past those issues as well so that's so valid, i love your take on that!!! 🥰
