i don't see you not feeling called to be in the city as a shameful thing at all! if anything, it shows that you went out of your comfort zone to see if nyc was the place for you and you're realizing it doesn't align with the lifestyle that best suits you. that shows so much strength and self-awareness you have and i encourage you to view it all as a learning experience that will lead you closer to the place that is right for you

u only have one life, live it the way YOU want! sometimes u have to be a little “selfish” (i don’t think that’s the right word to use but idk what to say instead lol) and do what is best for u!! don’t feel bad about ur roommate, i promise she won’t be mad at u for doing what u are happiest doing!! i promise it’s ok not to feel super independent and it’s great to have such a good bond with your family!
