Weekdays, Daytime and Months in German | German Basics | YourGermanTeacher
How to say the weekdays, daytime and months in German? In this video I am going to teach you all of them. First you will learn the 7 seven weekdays such as Monday, Tuesday and so on. Then we will do the different daytime such as morning, afternoon and evening and then you will learn the 12 months from January till December.
And as usual at the end I am going to share with you some bonus material, which is in this video the 4 seasons. So at the end of this video you will be able to use all weekdays, daytime and months in German in your daily conversation.

My favorite day of the week (when I was still working) was definitely Friday! Now that I'm retired, they are all my favorite days! Every day is now a Saturday, so to speak. Keep up the good work; your videos are such a big help for me. I view each of them 2-3 times to make sure I get all that you offer in each of them.
I have recently discovered this channel and I cannot express how happy I am about that fact. The lessons are really well-prepared and the visual teaching aids are truly helpful. The teachers have just the right amount of professional expertise, energy and charm, which makes them perfect for me ;-) I cannot even aspire to such a level of teaching on YT myself.

Donnerstag = day of Donar (the god of Thunder = Thor), Freitag = day of Freya (goddess), just compare them with the respective Swedish names. And do not forget your own ancient gods :-)

Funny Thing, in Spanish, other than Mittwoch, The days of the week follow the same logic, just different God names. Sonntag - Day of the Sun (which people worshiped), Domingo - Day of the Lord Montag - Day of the Moon, Lunes - Day of Luna Dienstag - Day of Tyr, Martes - Day of Mars (both God's of War. Donnerstag - Day of Donar/Thor, Jueves - Day of Jupiter (both use Thunder and lightning as weapons) Frietag - Day of Freya, Viernes - Day of Venus (both goddess of beauty) Samstag - Day of Sabbath, Sábado - Sabbath.

Yes it related to this word. Originally from the name of the god “Donar”. Some kind of weather god. 👍😊
