Glad you are doing well. I have been a nurse for 43 years and I encourage you to research your diagnosis totally and prepare any questions you have to your medical team for personal answers. Arm yourself with all the information, you are your own front line warrior and you don't need to share it with anyone.

This, 100%. Research as if your life depends on it because it may. You are your best advocate. Doctors know about a lot of things but they don't know everything about a lot of things. Knowledge is power. You owe no one anything but yourself. Don't feel like you have to explain anything to anyone else. Glad you're feeling better kiddo. 🙂

From a person who has suffered from life long illnesses and a lot of unknowns, you are your best advocate. Don't be afraid to ask your medical team what is going on and what to expect. Make sure you do your own research so that you can get the answers for things you don't understand. Make a list of questions before you go to your next doctor appointment and make sure they answer them in a way you understand. You shouldn't feel the need to share what is going on. Your medical issues are private. You don't know who is watching your videos and those that are have no business knowing about something so personal. I've been through so many surgeries and most of them have been due to genetic issues. Knowing nothing about my family history only makes things worse but I've learned to only talk about my issues with someone I trust.

@@stacey_h have you considered something like a 23andMe test - the test can't diagnose things but you can give your doctors the reports and see if that helps guide them to know better how to help you. Most of what it said I have a higher chance of was accurate. My mom has both of the conditions listed and my doctors have been monitoring me for them for 20 yrs, before dna testing.

In an ideal world, viewers should understand that vloggers have the right to share what they want to share while keeping other aspects of their life and/or opinions personal and private. You are a smart young lady, and I'm sure you did well on all your assignments, quizzes and exams. I always told my children that sometimes a pass is a pass - which was not my daughter's motto. She felt that anything below 90% was a tragedy for her personally.

The reasons for your surgery do not matter. You just need to take care and heal. Having an laparoscopic surgery is so much easier to recover from than a full laparotomy. It really does take a full 6 weeks to recover, as all the layers of tissue need to heal and be strong enough to do all normal activity. I have had both several times and understand the difference! Take care and don’t over due your actives. Let your family help, especially the lifting!

Surgery is always rough to get through. Especially anything abdominal. You don’t realize how many muscles you take for granted. Trying to drive when your stomach has been sliced open literally took me a week longer than what my doctor advised. Here’s hoping the rest of your recovery is smooth sailing!

Omg right! I have only had scope surgeries but when they did a 2 inch incision for my gallbladder, holy crap on a cracker, I thought they killed me. I slept in a recliner so I wouldn't accidentally try to roll over. Oowwww! Anything where they have to cut the muscle is so much worse feeling on recovery. I've had several surgeries over the years and every one of them is different but that was the worst.

Here’s the thing on sharing, Jess. Until you do, you have a choice and control. Once you do, you can not take it back. Unless you are 100% comfortable with meeting people in the future who will instantly know about it by looking you up, hold it private. It is no one’s business but yours, your doctors’, and anyone you want included like your family. Decisions on sharing private medical issues can backfire later. Making a choice in your early 20s when it can pop up in 20-30yrs is potentially not in your best interest. We do not know how privacy laws may change in the future or how KZread content may (or may not) be used/misused. Just something to consider.

Jess just glad you are bouncing back and starting to feel like yourself. When they say don't lift, they mean it. It promotes scar tissue that's difficult to clear out if cut again or in years later can hurt like a B...learned that one the hard way. In regards to sharing, that's not necessary. Most like me just want to see you happy and safe. Hope UofG professors and school continue to support your recovery. Just stay on top of the work and communicate. My daughter went through that after surgery and treatment and became difficult. Stand your ground and pick your battles. Hope you had a nice valentines too.

You'll be in my prayers, Jessica. You don't ever have to say what's going on with your health. My son was sick with problems, and it took him going to a Dr 3½ hours away two different times to fix the problems. It's still an issue once in a while. However, beforehand, it was every day. He's also in school now taking medical classes to be a radiologist. He never hardly told anyone. So, it's your body, and it's private. So, the right kind of people (especially Mom's) won't expect you to tell everyone what's wrong with your health. I pray you never have to deal with it ever again.

I'm a little older than you, 25. I envy your spirit and your self-discipline. Your way of unapologetically being yourself, and feeling confident enough to share that with others. It's beautiful to see when that same person is also going through so much. Because you are, you are going through a lot at a young age, and yet you are shinning so warmly in a light that brings a smile to face. I understand the lack of answers, and the confusion it brings. It's like you don't even know what questions you need to ask to get the answers you want. I've been doing the same thing for almost a year now. Trying to figure out what autoimmune disorder I have, if I even have one, and what medicine is helping or if it isn't and it's been all for naught. All I know, and I'm sure you empathize with, is that you just want to not be in pain anymore. I'm sorry you're going through this, from an empathetic position at the strongest of reasons. I hope you get answers soon, and some sort of relief even sooner. From woman to woman, our bodies are complicated enough as is, and to add more crap to the brew is enough. Make sure if it becomes too much, you seek professional help and to lean on your support beams. 💚

I think it’s very important like many other people do to write down your questions don’t just have them in your head have them on a piece of paper because doctors really like that. I will continue to pray for you and hope that everything turns out OK.

So very happy for you that you are feeling better and getting back into life, slowly! You look great! Nice work on your exam. As you feel better you will be tempted to push yourself to do too much…try to resist that impulse! We tend pay for it with a setback. Prayers and best wishes for a complete recovery and long & happy life!!! 💚🙏🏻☮️☘️

Glad to see you are recovering well, Jess! And like others have said, share what you want to, or not at all, but we'll always be happy to hear how you're doing. I'll mention that one thing that helped me exponentially when I got my own serious medical diagnosis was finding a support group for the condition. I hope that's something that may help with all the uncertainty you have right now. Take care, Jess, and all the best healing vibes from me to you. 💞

OMG! I’m an accounting tutor! Hope you continue improving! The pain usually takes about two weeks to ease over. You can expect a month till you feel “normal”.
