KITTEN SEE, KITTEN DO (00:00)
Last week we had some visitors to help socialize the kittens and one of them showed me how they imitate your hand movements at a young age. Turned out Tikka Marsala (orange tabby) does this quite well so I was able to capture that moment. I'm thinking about doing a year-end compilation where I do it with all my fosters for the rest of this year.
KITTENS MEET COPPER (01:20)
Copper has met at least 10+ kittens by now, but he still acts super excited the first time they meet - it's like he wants all of them to be his friend and wants to beg the ones that may be shy to pay attention to him. The ones that are not afraid of him, he could care less. Perhaps as he gets older he will chill out, but it also doesn't help if other people are visiting as he gets overstimulated and starts running around.
RE-POTTING PLANTS (02:51)
Two weeks ago I purchased 16 plants, thinking that 8 would probably die so I'd only end up with 8. Turns out, they are much easier to care for than a dog or cat and all of them are still alive (as of writing). Since they came in 2" planter pots, i had to move all of them into 4" pots which surprisingly took less time than I thought. Jade was particularly interested in the process as she sat and watched me go through this over and over for all 16 plants.
FOSTER WALL UPDATES (04:02)
Whenever fosters leave to get adopted, I always take a picture of them on their last day and get 4x4 printouts of them. They all go on this corkboard that I've been keeping since moving into this apartment in 2021. It's interesting how fast I can forget the memories of each foster once a few months pass by. This wall is a good reminder of the times we had and the empty spaces represents the ones yet to come. Since most fosters arrive at 4-5 weeks of age, most of them likely don't even exist yet!
Until next time,
- Your past self

You are so lucky to foster kittens. Copper is great at it too.

Jade and copper are both so incredibly sweet and absolutely amazing pets to socialize the foster kittens. They will be so so so easy to adopt out since they’re not only used to humans and cats, but also dogs ❤
