MEAL TIME (00:00)
It's almost time to say goodbye to Cantaloupe/Baobob, the smaller one is now only 100 grams away from adoption. Her brother is at least 200+ grams heavier than her and is where a normal kitten should be at development wise. When they eat the wet food, I split one can into two halves and Cantalouple still leaves some leftovers that Baobob ends up eating. They both get fed every 4-5 hours, but she just eats a lot less overall.
PLAY TIME (01:24)
Both kittens are also getting more confident running around the apartment. They can now walk by Copper without being scared that he will try to mouth them or lick them endlessly. While he is bigger than them, his paws slip in the hardwood floor so they can always outrun him if needed, or even out-climb him into the various places they can go up. String toys, metal spring, and the laser pointer are popular toys as expected.
HOME IMPROVEMENTS (03:06)
The chicken wire fence preventing Copper from eating cat poop has malfunctioned lately, as he learned that if he paws the top of the wire, it bends over and he can eventually reach the litter box. I've ordered thicker fencing wire and redid the protection, now he should have a much harder time trying to get in. I can also double the height up to 32" so there is 0% chance he can ever get in. I've cut out holes in the bottom so the kittens can still get in and out with no issues.
NAP TIME (04:16)
Both kittens are also discovering what a human bed is, my last task as a foster is to get the used to sleeping in a human bed, or at least being around a pillow, blanket, or comforter is not a scary thing. They seem to understand that this is a soft place to rest on, but are still somewhat scared when the comforter moves around. I suspect in a few more days they will be OK with this and start sleeping there like most kittens realize.
