you can tell this was after beyonce began her solo career as well cuz she released her debut album like a year before this & i feel like her overall confidence grew even more and her voice began becoming even stronger, like beyonce is one of the artist you can see just become better and better throughout her career, she never slacked her drive to succeed was amazing

This song is beautiful but I will say they are singing to a certain type of man. The man they are singing to is one who makes them FEEL LIKE DOING ALL OF THIS. So he is one who deserves this level of love, respect, attention, and loyalty. Within the lyrics they mention what he does that makes them feel safe and loved enough to want to cater to him. I think many men who listen to this song miss that and just want the catering without making their lady feel special enough to then feel compelled to do so.

Hey guys. I suggest looking up the lyrics. The song/message was not unrealistic. The song is a love letter to a GREAT man. The chorus say "Let me cater to you 'Cause baby this is your DAY. Catering or spoiling your loved one is not out of pocket, nor unrealistic in a healthy relationship. It's showing appreciation. That is what the song is about. Both of my parents cater to each other from time to time. They have been married for 56 years. I am 57, the oldest of three kids.

Those dance moves and dresses are inspired from the song "Be Alone Tonight" which is also a scene in Spike Lee's 1988 movie School Daze.
