The saxophone player passed not long after the video premiered. She recorded an entire other music video more budget and abstract. But she decided to release this one. Always one of my fave videos ever from her cuz she really pulled back and let the music speak for itself and let him shine. 🙏

@@rodrigojimenez4764 Actually they did record the video, I don't know if it's ever completed but there are even set photos from original music video set.

Fun fact: The edge of glory was meant to have a massive budget music video but Gaga and the director kept clashing with their visions for the video, so ultimately Gaga decided to direct it herself and scale it down a bit.

her music during 2011 is basically a love letter to the 80s also her outfit here is entirely archive versace!

This song is soooo underrated. It’s probably one of the best songs she’s ever done and I always seem to forget that.

She single-handedly brought Versace back to life. Donatella Versace let her go through their archives and she pulled many pieces that she wore during this era of the Born This away roll out. You can look up articles around the time that say because Gaga was wearing it in videos and live performances around the world, Versace as a brand saw a resurgence #italianqueen

If you need more context for the song, it was written about being with her Grandfather while he was in his last moments of life. Gaga was riding on the edge of life (Glory) with him and hanging in the moments they had left. It a song about death and celebrating life. You're welcome!

I literally gagged when this song came out.

The original concept of the video was totally different but she had a creative differences with the director the same that made the videos for “Lovegame” and “Eh, Eh (nothing else I can say” ending with the director to be fired and the choreographer abandoned the project after the problem with Gaga and the director… so this video was directed for Gaga and the House of gaga ( his team ) and recorded in two days inspirated of the old apartment of lady Gaga in NYC.
