Something important to note- hearing the lyrics ‘no matter gay straight or bi lesbian transgender life / I’m on the right track baby I was born to survive’ on a song about being born perfectly was 👏 revolutionary. Especially for 2010/Ish? Coming from a world renown up and coming pop star - huge. And Gaga’s international support of LGBTQIA+ 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️ rights has been instrumental. Glad you enjoyed it!

Couldn't say it better. This beautiful lady waved around the pride flag in Russia and almost was arrested because of it. She has always pushed through to represent the queer community no matter what and I love her sm for that.

people have no idea how many lifes were saved by gaga by this album, mine included. it was really revolutionary and controversial, I love love LOVE her for this. she has been activist for lgbtqia+ rights since the beginning of her career. she’s even banned from russian for speaking her mind and giving support to her fans from the community. she’s always be a rebel and that’s so rare in today’s pop music.

When I heard this song for the first time, I was stuck in traffic because there’d been an accident up the road. I was not in a good mood. This came on so I turned my stereo up as loud as it could get. I opened my car doors and laid on the hood of my car. Zero fucks given.

Joe (guy with the stache) is so incredibly wholesome! His smile and his response to this song is so adorable. What a sweetheart

Lady Gaga was always a rock star doing pop music she’s always been so bad ass and gave me confidence to be myself her Born This Way album saved my life as a LGBT youth who didn’t want to be myself.

BTW was the first song in history on be #1 in iTunes in just hours also the song had the second best debut on the billboard hot 100, this song broke so many records and was #1 in billboard for 6 weeks and the song had the best selling in his two first weeks, was the second song since 2003 in be #1 after his debut and after the 6 weeks in the 7 weeks was #1 in the top of pop songs

However when this song came out she was interviewed and she was asked what she thought of this song, because everybody was comparing it to Express Yourself, and she called it reductive. This song is about equality and loving yourself.. I mean it's all there in the lyrics. Express Yourself is a women's empowerment song. So how is this song reductive at @Madonna ? In fact there are 4 photos of them together from different years laying on the same plush white carpet or huge blanket, in different clothes. Maybe at the met gala or some awards party.
