I’ve been seeing more and more full wedding day coverage videos pop up on my feed and more times than not, I just do not care for the photographer’s style and approach. They’ve got bags and bags of gear, a 20 person production crew (I’m exaggerating of course), everything is posed down to the hand placement and head tilt... it was a photo shoot, not a wedding day. I’d get discouraged in my own work because I’m intensely introverted with a lot of anxiety and watching those photographers, I just feel like I could never get to their level. After coming across Taylor’s videos, however, a light just switched on or something. Everything resonated with me. The style, the sense of humor, the approach... This, *this* is how I have always wanted to approach weddings I shoot. I’ve been shooting weddings for over 10 years (primarily as a second) and my boss used to get upset with me when I’d go off and shoot the guys and not come back with 20 different poses of the groom and groomsmen. I didn’t like doing all the different things she usually does because it just felt awkward as hell and a bit gimmicky to keep asking the guys to do this. Now do this. Now we’re going to look that way... sorry this is long and rambly. I guess what I’m trying to say is I’m excited I finally came across someone whose approach to wedding photography parallels my beliefs on how wedding photography should be. It’s their day, not a photo shoot.

So grateful you talk about what you wish you had done. There isn't a wedding I have shot that I didn't look back in certain moments and wish I had a different lens, light, etc. Thank you! True no such thing as the perfect shoot. But I have learned the emotion is so much more than the perfect lighting. (both is optimal of course but...) Beautiful work!
you inspire me to be more confident in my shoots and I have taken on a few more weddings and engagements since. thank you for making these videos.
This a great way to show potential clients how you work and what your images look like. Like the use of the Godox. 👍
Dude, I just realized a giraffe chilling with you is in your intro... whoa 😮

I'm actually pretty impressed you have time to make all these videos while still juggling all these weddings
I've seeing a lot of wedding photography and every photo you take is amazing
Love your work
I real enjoy and learn alot from this video. Thanks for sharing.
Looking so beautiful this couple 😍😍😍😍 Coolll photo shoot bro😍😍🤘🤘
Amazing
Really cool 🔥
Awsm... Bro
Hy! Love your videos, thx for sharing :), can u tell me the iso settings , I don't see them I want to understand how much iso are u using when shooting. Thx!!
Thanks
Taylor, thanks for sharing your experiences. I'm wondering you are always shooting couple of single shots in a batch. I'm using continuous shooting mode, as I learned from Tony Northrup, where the first and last one are usually slightly "shacked" due to pressing/releasing the shutter (5d + grip).
Taylor, I’m curious how do you have your GoPro mounted?
Shout out to the couple for stopping for a split second during the walking down the isle together shot
Can you make the presets DNG ? I wanna buy for light room mobile
First of all, just want to say terrific video. Question: In the video you mention the potential of using a flash to remove color cast and shadows during the ceremony. Would this be on camera pointed forward, or off camera ceiling bounce? Or? Thanks!
Taylor - in one of your videos, you mentioned some comfortable high top shoes for weddings that looked like sneakers. What shoes were those?
God damn that merc sounds good
Do you stay on the middle focus point or do you move it around depending on where people are in the scene?
Hi Taylor, i love your work and videos, big fan. I didn't get your statement about a directional light being wrong when you were taking the bride in the shade for the first look. Isn't it a perfect directional light example, much more preferable than an open field where light would come from all directions ?
Which camera is better ? Canon 77d or Nikon d7500 ?
How do you mount your go pro to you camera body ?
Hey Taylor, one question due to the scene beginning 3:28: Do you shoot alone or with another partner?
Hi Sir. I have been following your videos and the' re really educational. Thanks a bunch for them. I noticed almost all your weddings if not all that I have watched, you are shooting at f2.8. The only thing your changing is the ISO and shutter speed..I definitely have to try that in my next upcoming wedding. Thanks and big shout out from Nairobi Kenya
As a photographer what lenses are you using in wedding
Hi do you retouch those pics after?
💓💓
do you use Automatic Iso?
Taylor can you give us your settings etc when you are shooting a wedding ? We need more technical info please.

Awesome footage bro. What’s your settings for the group shot? Also loving that Godox set up you have.

Don't worry he will not answer that like many other questions here smh
Question. What is your main preference for Godox over Nikon Speed lights? Love the simple setup and not having to use pocket wizards (which is probably #1 reason) But do you feel the trigger works as well especially with recycle time? though sometimes when my flash doesn't go off I love the shot, so delayed recycle time is sometimes awesome-but sometimes not.
@TaylorJacksonPhoto

I have a few videos about it. Godox just tends to work all the time with no recycle time
I am subscribed your video and click the bell icon .and I am like your all videos.
Taylor you mentioned if your on the fence between a 24 and a 35 to grab the 35 and was wondering why you said that as Ive been debating the 2 for awhile now.
How do you record the top of your camera for us to see?

I have the go pro hero 4 and I hate it, I think it’s on and it’s not (more like user error) also the battery life is 30 mins how do you deal with that? Or is your 7 way better both ways?
@TaylorJacksonPhoto

7 lasts most of a day or light shooting. I like it better for the stabilization though
🥰😍
Hello , looking to your camera settings ( 4mn into the video) M mode ,1600th of second at f2.8 ) seems the weather that day was not helping to much , how did you come up with these settings? thx
@mattzamaites
4 жыл бұрын
2.8 is as wide open as that lens goes, so obviously you start there! then 1600th of a second seems normal for mid day sun in the shade of a tree and relatively low ISO

@Taylor, loving the videos! D850 | Custom Settings Menu | d3 ISO display | Show ISO sensitivity | would be great to see ISO setting on the top display instead of the release count in the behind the scenes footage
Which zoom lens are you using with 850 ? PS : From India, you inspire me. Love your work.

7:20 Sick stuff Taylor, one question I do have is the reasoning behind putting the family shots right up against a wall. It totally comes down to person preference, but I usually like to give a little separation between the subject and wall. Just picking your brain 😁😁 thanks!

Did you shoot everything in f2.8. And also did you use auto ISO?
@TaylorJacksonPhoto

Usually wide open on all lenses
Do you used continuous auto focus all the time?? It just seems like some images look completely miss focused on the couples faces? Or is it just me

I assume you're shooting af-s for portraits and af-c during the ceremony based on your recomposing. Correct?

100% appreciate the consistency of light that your lightstand placement gives you during the reception, but it feels like (just from watching this video, obviously not from being at the actual event) that it might be too distracting to guests?
