Hi, I live in Myrtle Beach, SC and I’m wondering if this laser can be placed in a garage on a Husky work bench. Curious about hot and cold temperatures and if this will cause harm to the laser.

The workbench will be great. As for temperatures, you're more concerned about freezing temperatures then heat. The laser will perform best above freezing and up to 100 degrees generally. The rule of thumb is to operate the laser as close to room temperature as possible. All that being said, a lot of people have their machines set up in sheds or a garage, and they work just fine.
Hi! Do you think the XTOOL S1 is worth the higher price?

They both have good features. The S1 will have the option down the road to upgrade to a 40w laser head if you buy the 20w now. The bed is bigger and the software is more intuitive. Xtool has been around for a while with a good reputation. With this one you get the auto height adjustment included which is a plus. It really depends on what you want to create.

Yes and no. You can't engrave anything clear when it's bare. That's the nature of a diode laser. You can paint the glass or coat it in some way to get the laser to engrave.
How would you compare this with the glow forge and M1 X tool?

Does the machine closes when the job is complete? Because is still in the expand position. Thank you

No, it actually rises up when the job is complete so you can easily retrieve your item. Then it stays in that position. There is a way in the software to lower back down if you'd rather store it that way.

Yes you can cut cardstock with a laser. You can engrave it too.
So, this will actually engrave metal? Not just a coating?

Yes, I've engraved stainless steel with good results. Other metals need to be coated for the best results.

Yes, a diode laser is best with anodized aluminum or other coated/painted metals.
Looking for a table for my machine. May I ask where you got your table?

This setup is from Ikea, I have 2 sets of Alex drawers, then 3 table tops over them with legs on ends. The table tops come in a few different sizes depending on your needs. Mine are 39" x 24". I do have a craft room tour on this channel where you can see a wider shot of the whole wall.
