Weber Jumbo Joe, 1st Cook! Prime Ribeye Reversed Seared! SnS Charcoal Basket!

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

1st cook on my new Jumbo Joe! A must have for anyone that wants to take a grill on an outing or vacation!
Weber Jumbo Joe 1st Cook
• We started with a really nice and thick Prime Ribeye, about 2 ½” thick.
• 24 hours in advance I salted the ribeye and placed on a rack in the refrigerator uncovered.
• Removed about 1 hour before the cook to relax at room temperature.
• Set up the Jumbo Joe with the SnS Grills charcoal basket and filled with Fogo Premium Lump charcoal. Got the grill nice and hot.
• Put the ribeye on the grill for indirect cooking. Once it reached 80 degrees and flipped to promote even heating. When I got to 114 degrees, I started the searing process.
• For searing I put directly over the coals for 1 minute each side and repeat that process 2 times for a total of 4 minutes. On this cook, I actually went 30 seconds longer on each side until I saw the crust I wanted to see. The fire was not as hot as I wanted it when I started the sear.
• Once the searing was done, I pulled the steak and let it rest on the cutting board for 10 minutes before cutting into this.
• Summery: This grill worked out exactly as I had hoped. Small enough to take with you and big enough to cook multiple steaks, burgers, chicken, etc… The SnS Grills charcoal basket was a must for me since I use the regular Slow ‘N Sear in my other kettle!
I received this as a Christmas gift from our daughter Niki and her fiancé Sean!
I also purchased the Slow ‘N Sear charcoal basket from SNS Grills. Since this grill is only 18 inches, this basket is larger than others on the market. Link below.
Also got the Weber small chimney, link below.
Stay tuned for more cooks on this new grill.

How is that Sam Adam's IPA? Haven't seen that in my grocery store, but I could easily just miss it. Trying to get in and out of the grocery store quickly. What does the beer compare to? I love IPA's. Love your channel.

MrPanthers23 I know what you mean, no window shopping going on, in and out! Hard to say what it compares to, but I would say this is a medium hopped favor, not supper hoppy, but a good tasting IPA. I usually like IPA’s that are to super hoppy, so this one is one of my favorites. Plus it is 6.8%, beers fills me up the older I get, so I like the higher alcohol content! It is great to have people like you to watch out channel! Really glad you enjoy!

I am not a big fan of grill marks, but like a good overall sear. They call that the cold grate technique, while the grate is not cold, it is not hot enough to make grill marks. It is just a preference that I like the best. Cheers!

I ran over the lid to my jumbo joe with the car. Weber wants almost as much for a lid as the grill costs and no one on marketplace is selling that, sooooo I’ll be getting another one 🙁

Sideyard Barbecue Ouch! It is good that these are reasonable in the US at only $70. If you look on the bright side, you will have a new grill and use the other bottom as a small fire pit? LOL Thanks for watching!

Stewart Perthou It is called the cold grate technique. You don’t get grill marks and I like the sear it gives. Really just a preference, but I like doing them that way! Cheers!
