That is one bad-ass kettle! I just bought a used 22.5 in kettle that needs TLC and stumbled onto your channel/video. Fantastic ideas and modifications. Thank you!

Excellent Tom! These are just the ideas that I was looking for to upgrade my older 22" Weber kettle.

Thanks for the inspiration, Tom! This past weekend I added a temp gauge to my small weber smokey joe so I could take my first leap into cold smoking foodstuffs. In the long run I could see investing in a bigger model such as yours. Loved the hinge, felt and dual temp gauges. I did see something similar on the temp gauges at Home Depot for those not wanting to order online.

Love all the mods Tom. I have done some of these to my WSM. When I finally get a kettle, I'll definitely be doing some of this to it too. Thanks for the tips

Just added the hinge, gonna install a temp probe. Waiting on some customized maple handles to come in. Waiting on your video where you lengthen the legs. Great video boss.

Tom, Great mods that you made. I live in the Australia so miss seeing friends adding things to their Weber. I also added an temp gage to the out side, other than that I am pretty much stock. I really like the hinge and the other improvements. I'll keep an eye out for them. I also just finished watching your video on cooking the Costco ribs on your modified kettle. they did look good.

I am a Weber Kettle guy myself, I love how you accessorized your kettle, too bad that Weber doesn’t put those thermometers where they need to be at the factory. Thanks for the video!

The handle on the circular lid vent is genius! I just bought and installed the components this morning.

Cool modifications. I have two 22.5 Webers. The only modification I've done so far is to insert a couple self tapping metal screws into the top of the legs to keep them from popping out when moving the grill. I would love to see an improvement on the casters, which are fine for moving the grill very short distances on flat surfaces. Also, the grill will flip if you lift the handle to high. I just carry it now (not lit, of course)when I want to move it more than a couple feet.

clever~ the hinge and the tiered shelving are particularly useful modifications. Nicely presented b/w :-)
