    I was looking at that one too. But I just felt it was too much money for upgrades that didn't really help cook the food.. after all its just a 870 dollar grill with alot of add ons outside the firebox.. so you get the 9mm grates, lights in the handle, side burner and side shelf.. at the end of the day I don't use the side burners and felt 500 more for those upgrades was not worth it.. I ended up getting a napoleon prestige 500 for the price of the sp-e335.. I just felt it was the same quality and has more features for cooking like IR sear zone and rotisserie.. I honestly know I will regret either grill and wish I had the other one thinking I'm missing out. I wish I could have used both to truly see what I wanted. Both grills are excellent and I loved that blue sp-e335 I had my mind set on..

I’m rarely using all three burners so I’m always tinkering with 1-2 burners to find my sweet spot in temp. Having the built-in probe would be great to make my adjustments quicker. The app is nice too. I plan to do some videos later in the year showcasing it and how it walks you through recipes easily. Y’all get some grills in the Europe market before we do here. • @justgrillin

    @justgrillin

    2 жыл бұрын

    Thank you. So far the lights perform fine for me. I haven't seen anything that gives me pause about them. I'm really glad to have them because I don't have an outdoor patio light. I cook 3-4 times a week with the grill at 450 to 600 F degrees every time. When cooking at high heat, the handle on the outside is cool to the touch for the most part and I think that's where the bulk of the parts are. Lights on the inside of a grill is pretty common on the commercial grill offerings. I would think Weber is using similar wiring. Might be overthinking your concern on the lights but that's just my take. It's a valid point to question for sure. - Sam

    Great video...will be purchasing one of them....question....differences between grates....have always used cast iron....advantages of the stainless steel vs cast iron....and the thickness issue. How's that impact cleaning etc....thanks.

  • @justgrillin

    @justgrillin

    2 жыл бұрын

    Thank you. We prefer the stainless over the PECI for the durability and ease of cleaning. With the right care, they'll look pretty decent for a while. We like to look at Genesis grills as a 10-year investment. These grills certainly last much longer than that but we find a lot of our clients upgrade/get a new model on average after 10 years. The stainless grates seem to hold up better over that time frame versus the PECI. We notice the coating flakes off in about half of the that time frame on the PECI. If you've used the PECI grates in the past and have enjoyed your experience with them don't overthink what we recommend in the video. The two options in thickness of stainless grates should clean up pretty much the same. The difference comes down to longevity. Heat wears everything in the grill down over time. The difference in a lot of offset smokers comes down to the thickness of the metal. For example, a brand we represent, Yoder Smokers, warrants their offset wood pits for lifetime. They know their metal is so thick that it would take an unforeseen act of god to wear the grill down. Whereas if you look up an offset pit from Oklahoma Joe, they give a 2-year warranty because they know it's not going to hold up in the long term because the metal is not nearly as thick. I just use that as a broad example. You're fine with 7mm or 9mm SS grates. But the thicker grates will hold up better over a long period of time. PECI Grate Pros: Retains Heat Better Moderately Priced Stainless Grate Pros: Durability Easier To Clean Hopefully that doesn't make things more confusing. Trying to simplify the answer using our real world examples. Thanks for watching and thank you for the question. - Sam

  • @justgrillin

    @justgrillin

    5 ай бұрын

    I'm getting ready to work on a video for the new 2024 models as those were just announced in the last few weeks. The SI-E-330 will have similar grill performance to the SP-E-335. Burners are the same aside from side burner. You can watch that video on our channel to get a better idea of performance if you didn't come across it already. The Si-E-330 is a discontinued model version and it didn't sell well. That doesn't make it a bad grill but it's not one I typically recommend to clients. The trade off with this special edition model is that you get a smoker box instead of thick 9mm stainless steel cooking grates like all the other special editions models. The value of the smoker box to grates is not equal and therefore one reason I like the SP-E-325 and the SP-E-335 better. The cooking grates on the SI-E-330 are porcelain-enamel cast iron and the lifespan of those isn't as good. These grills last 10+ years no problem but those grates aren't up to par. The stainless grates would last much longer and are easier to care for. You'll probably find a good deal here and there on 2023 models as we get further into the year. If it were me, I would look for an SP-E-325 or SP-E-335. The integrated handle light is worth it too and they're decreasing the amount of special editions it comes with in 2024. - Sam

  • @justgrillin

    2 жыл бұрын

    I’m not entirely sure from which standpoint you’re asking this from so I will answer a few different ways. Yes you can buy stainless grates separately but you can only purchase the 7mm Stainless Steel Grates. The 9mm Stainless Steel Grates are not sold separately so if you like those your only option is to purchase a grill model that comes with them. And if you look at the cost of the 7mm stainless grates, $175 (300 Series) and $220 (400 Series) to add on, it makes more sense to just spend that on front end for a model with stainless grates already included. If you’re asking from the perspective of just buying a fresh set way down the road, you should be able to. I can’t predict Weber’s product offering but typically they have the 7mm grates as an accessory option. That’s just based on previous years lineup history though. Thank you for watching and your question. If I didn’t answer it, let me know how I can help. - Sam

    You can use a rotisserie with any of the Genesis grills. The rotisserie is a separate accessory that is purchased separately for the grills. Just make sure you get the correct size. I don’t have a rotisserie and I didn’t have any older Genesis II to measure the different sitting height of the spits. It’s not listed either but my guess is you gain about 3 to 5 inches in height. If you're basing that comment on the rotisserie, the Genesis grills don't come with a rotisserie spit or infrared rear rotisserie burner. They are capable of accommodating a rotisserie though. The model # for the rotisserie spit & motor for a Genesis 3-Burner is: 7652. You can search that on Weber's website to find the part to order. Let me know if you have any other questions. - Sam

    Thanks for the positive feedback. I cook on the grates I recommend which are the stainless. They are easier to care for and tend to last the longest. The PECI grates will start to flake their coating after 5-6 years I’ve noticed from the grills we swap out on new deliveries. Everyones level of upkeep is different so what I’m saying can vary. @@MrMatoony that’s the purpose of cast iron. It will retain heat better than stainless will. • @justgrillin

    @justgrillin

    2 жыл бұрын

    My answer is based on the assumption by top 2022 Genesis model that you're referring to the SPX-435. With the Summit, you would be gaining the 9mm Stainless Steel Grates, Infrared Rotisserie Burner (with spit/motor included), larger side shelves on both sides of the grill, integrated smoker box and a better warranty (10 Year Bumper To Bumper). The interior of the grill hood/cookbox has more of a rear shield to help keep more heat inside the grill. This Summit line is also a little more well constructed/beefier too for durability and longevity. With the SPX-435, you would gain the Weber Connect Tech built into the grill, the new integrated handle light design, more cook space (no integrated smoker box) and the new Crafted Frame Kit and Storage Cabinet. Both are great but, this is me personally, I like the SPX-435 with the Weber Connect and Crafted Kit. My answer is based purely on how I would use the grill with my cooking habits. I'd use the difference I would have spent on the E-470 to purchase the Crafted Flat Top, Roasting Basket and Grill Cover for the Genesis. You know what feature(s) you value more based on your cooking habits. Appreciate you asking and hope this helps. Keep the questions coming if you have more. - Sam

  • @justgrillin

    @justgrillin

    2 жыл бұрын

    @@sackdance99 you certainly can. The Weber Connect is the technology Weber is going to keep investing in. It updates via Firmware so users, regardless of when they get it, can take advantage of the newest features via update. I would not purchase an iGrill as Weber is probably working to phase those out. That's just a hunch and I have no indication that's the case. The warranty is mainly because it's an electronic system that's outdoors. 3 years is actually pretty generous. Some pellet grill brands don't even warrant their controllers (the main thing) for that long so it's actually not bad on an electronic component. I agree with you that technology changes fast and I am hesitant on purchases too. Changes in this industry are not nearly as rapid as something like TV's, speakers and phones. My top recommended Genesis is the SP-E-335 for the features and price point compared to the entire line. That model doesn't have the Smart Tech. But I do like the Smart Tech and don't want to discourage anyone from picking a model with it. It's useful, user friendly and has great purpose. - Sam

    Ай бұрын

    Make sure you watch our 2024 guide: kzread.info/dash/bejne/qpmi15Kaj7uzZKg.html The models with the 9MM stainless grates are better because of the grates. Weber's generous warranty on these grills does not match up with how long the PECI grates hold up. The 9MM grates are thick so they'll hold up well and are easier to care for over a 10-year period. Even the models with the 7MM grates are good but the 9MM grates are a great value. Watch the 2024 video and you'll see them compared to a grill line that starts in the $4k plus range. - Sam

  • @justgrillin

    @justgrillin

    Stainless is going to last longer and will be easier to clean. The cast iron will hold heat and distribute it better. I still like the stainless for the durability cause these grills are roughly an 8-10 year investment. With the right care, these grills will last longer but we see our clients replace them after that many years usually. The cast iron grates typically start to lose their coating after a handful of years but that varies based on each owners care level. Did I answer your question? If not, just keep asking and I’ll do my best to answer. - Sam
