great video! I'm setting up an outdoor net with a tv monitor mounted off to the side. I currently use my Android phone with the MLM2Pro. I'm upgrading, adding webcam putting and a pc using GSPro. I want to have a semi-permanent outside installation with the TV mounted permanently with a waterproof cover in case of rain (I'm in the desert and it does not rain very often). I have a permanent stand for the MLM2Pro and the Rapsodo unit goes inside with me when I'm done hitting balls. I can easily have the 4 inch PC cube inside the house 30 feet away and cast the screen to the TV. Bluetooth keyboard and mouse work well so I have no problem bring those inside or outside as needed. (And if I forget and the keyboard / mouse get rained on, no big deal. I have lots of those around from previous computer purchases). The only problem is the webcam and the usb connection. I see lots of security cameras that are like webcams and send video to a phone or to the cloud. Is there a known good security camera that can be mounted outside that will use wifi to send video to the inside pc for webcam putting? Has anyone done anything like this yet? Obviously, what I'm trying to do is mount as much stuff as I can outside but have the really expensive, important PC stay inside. The other important item, MLM2PRO goes outside then inside with each use. Thanks.

Good video. You need to get that webcam re-mounted 😂. I saw your other video on it lowering your fps if you manually flip it.

When I open my putting view, it pulls up my camera but it’s like pink can’t see anything but when I view my webcam outside of that program it’s normal and visible.

Do you have any trouble with default settings resetting after every time the putting launches (ie. Every single time the putting launches on gspro the webcam exposure has to be adjusted) Does anyone have tips or a fix for this?

I just looked at this video again after seeing it when it first came out. I was doing fine with webcam putting when I had my room evenly lit with a fluorescent on the ceiling above my hitting area but it kind of washed out the picture quality of my projector on the screen so I got a spotlight very similar to yours I think. Since then I have not been able to get stable ball recognition with the fluorescent light off and the spotlight on. I understand the basics of HSV settings as you explained here but wondered about how the brightness, darkness, contrast and whiteness settings etc. also contribute. I first try to adjust them to get some ball recognition before moving on to HSV settings but I kind of get stuck there. I assume you don't have any natural light in your room there so can you tell me how you have those other settings dialed in or if they really make that much of a difference for you? Thanks!

Biggest key for me was the new Srixon BRITE Orange MATTE Finish Soft Feel Golf Ball. Also having spotlight set to furthest cool (blue) color setting. Away from warm (orange) as it made my turf orange tint. Yes, the brightness and color settings definitely contribute. Start with auto white balance so at least working from same base everytime you open putting. Increase gain and start with other settings near neutral. For Orange I find success between 20-55 Hue. 180 -255 Sat. And 120-255 Value Srixon BRITE Orange - amzn.to/43rGzp4 My settings exactly are: exposure = -5.0 saturation = 128.0 autowb = -1.0 whitebalanceblue = 3399.0 whitebalancered = -1.0 brightness = 128.0 contrast = 128.0 hue = -1.0 gain = 255.0 monochrome = -1.0 sharpness = 128.0 autoexposure = -1.0 gamma = -1.0 zoom = 100.0 focus = 0.0 autofocus = 2.0 customhsv = {'hmin': 20, 'smin': 230, 'vmin': 130, 'hmax': 55, 'smax': 255, 'vmax': 255}

@@trpl_bgy Thanks for all that info. My spotlight is a real cheap one without any warm or cool color settings or brightness control. It seems really bright to the extent that an orange ball looks white in the putting app when it's inside the spotlight. It is a cool white color light though. I think I will try covering it with a stocking or something to try and reduce its brightness. My setup is a 1mx50cm darkish green hitting turf surrounded by dark blue artificial turf so maybe the difference in turf color isn't helping my cause either. Thanks again!

Yes, You have to set it up as a mirror and do ROI’s. There are some discussions on GitHub which might explain it all in more detail and how others have done it! Since I don't have one.... I know there are some things to do like gspro license change to API and then there is also something to do with chipping... Thanks for the video! I guess I have to get an orange ball, I tried a white ball in the spot light that doesn't work. I can use the white ball out of the spot light and it reads alot better. ? is there a putting green in this game just to practice?

Got it working and it was amazing! Closed everything out and opened again next day and the settings changed and i can no longer find any color ball on my mask

Sorry to hear! Sounds like an application or computer changed the camera settings... ? Things like exposure, gain and brightness? I haven't had that happen. did you hit "D" to exit the mask and "A" to exit advanced and then "Q" to exit putting to effectively save and record the settings?

I think my camera was doing some auto adjustments based on lighting My camera was mounted @ 12 foot above putting surface so I relocated the webcam to a tripod and was able to get everything up and running Wondering if upgrading the camera will help me get the camera back overhead I felt like the wider the shot the more accurate everything became@@trpl_bgy

It can and will definitely help with consistency. Additionally, getting more Frames Per Second (FOS) and a camera that handles lower light better (allowing for brighter picture) will help. I noticed biggest change when I went from 30 to 60 fps. Currently I use a Logitech Brio 4K 60 fps at 720p and love it.

It doesn't have to be straight above. Mine is at approx 10' in air mounted to my projector. People mount in front of themselves on a chair or tipod or wall often.
