I thought it was pretty much copping noddy, for example when the bubble went red, it was due to a ring he put on the after that act you can see him remove it when he wipes he’s hand on the black cloth I don’t mean to ruin it for anyone but I think it’s just what noddy don’t but the guy just spoke “richer”

Plus they didn't even watch it to find out that the guy gives Tom cred. It's also clear that there was a sudden mass algorithm recommendation of his vid from the Carson show 3 weeks ago that eventually led people to this via search. It's funny seeing how the algorithm kind of manipulates people's behavior in a way.

Tom Noddy literally wrote the book on blowing bubbles. Published in 1988, it was called Tom Noddy’s Bubble Magic. In it, he describes and diagrams each of his signature tricks, and encourages people to learn them. So, if you are concerned about this performer doing the same or similar tricks, perhaps you should keep that in mind. Tom wrote a book for all of the world to read, about how to do his tricks.

I was a bit put off initially until this guy credited Tom in the middle of his act and redeemed himself. No one should have a problem with him doing three of Tom's signature tricks (the vortex, the carousel, and the cube), just as long as he acknowledges Tom as his inspiration.

This kind of performance is called "Bubble Magic" I don't know if you have ever seen a magician perform before, but most of them don't credit every trick with their creators. It's just known in the industry that most tricks being performed, have been performed before, what's important is how well each magician pulls off the trick. Now Tom is without a doubt the pioneer of this kind of performance. He came up with not just most, if not all, of the tricks in this act; but most of the tricks a magician using this prop can do. If anyone performing bubble magic were to credit him with every trick in their act, their act would lack flow and would be hard to immerse yourself in. The Opium Man manages to use the same tricks as Tom, while providing an act that is just as immersive but for entirely different reasons. Tom is funny and high energy, he makes you laugh and impresses you with his skill. The Opium Man doesn't try to make you laugh, he wants tries to create wonder while speaking calmly and humbly and does so incredibly well.

Not 100% Tom Noddy. There is some original work here. But he gave a nod to Tom Noddy (pun intended). That nod is more than most artists receive when their acts are "borrowed".

Noddy himself blessed off on this man. I can watch his act satisfied.

Definitely Tom himself apparently said so via Facebook. That guy is an American original.

At first, I was a bit irritated when I recognized three of Tom Noddy's signature tricks, but then you credited him later in your routine and redeemed yourself, then put on a few more tricks of your own. Nicely done, and acknowledging your inspiration was the right thing to do.

Can I just say, I have thoroughly enjoyed this trip through the KZread algorithm and bubble magic with all your strangers. Hopefully we will meet again.

Seen this man last night. Honestly one of the most mesmerising acts I’ve ever seen. So calming and beautiful. Comes out of nowhere too, given the nature of the show! 10/10.

Give the man a break... Yes Noddy is the pioneer, but this man brought his own acts derived from Noddy. And he bought a totally different quality to his performance. I'm pretty sure Noddy would be so happy to his bubble tricks being done by others 35 years later.

See a bunch of comments saying he's just ripping off Tom Noddy, but I don't really see it that way. I mean, he references Tom Noddy in his act, and doesn't claim he came up with all of this himself. To be honest, I'm sure Tom would be happy that future generations are able to see his techniques and find them as joyous and wonderful now as they did back then. That's certainly a lot better than his skills never being passed on and ultimately being lost / forgotten entirely.

Say what you want to say. But this guy got class. Accent, tone, and tempo was relaxed. Mesmerized people with his magic act like the first time we watched Harry Potter. You know that feeling. Wonder and curiosity... His stage character is brilliant.

I like this advancment in the bubble world, I bet tom is super impressed by that bubble in the sky trick. Also ive never seen him change the inside dinsety. Props to taking a great trick and making it even better!

I saw his performance on Aug 7th 2022 and my wife and I were truly mesmerized by the show.

The castle at the end was great. Both acts are good but I like Tom Noddy's more because as the act progresses you realize he has a major understanding of geometry and physics. It would be great to see Tom experiment with giant sized bubbles.

I see alot of people kinda getting a shade grumpy, I remember Tom's appearance on Carson. I was just a kid in H.S. then, 1983, sigh. Heh.... I did share the "this bongo is stealing Tom's act" sentiment. But, really, there's lots of room for 2 bubble acts. He did have his own touches and the last trick, WOW. Sure there were the same tricks and he did pay homage. Someday the torch will be passed on, Tom will be 90 and making people happy with humor and bubbles. So the torch is safe. Act's like that are fading away, simple but fun acts of vaudville days long gone by. I'm "gonna" give the new guy a break. : ) : ) : )

The act, while most of it wasn't original, was still good until that point. That was some gimmicky shit right there.

Tom Noddy was a pioneer and a genius in bubble magic and seems to have inspire others, Denis Lock being one of them and I think he's doing a great job and I hope he continues to grow his tricks, if helium works i wonder if other gasses works, he should also try freezing some bubbles and do tricks with that

He used to do La Soiree every year with Hamish as The English Gents in UK and Australia. I saw him do this act there in maybe 2017. I heard after that they went to Vegas...

No one knew Tom until some weeks ago, now why NO ONE ELSE can do this? It must be an honor to inspire someone and to kinda keep your legacy, Tom is super happy with this guy and he evenm mentions Tom, the last trick was amazing so just enjoy.

Okay yall, we get it. Noddy is hot and this guy is not. Bubble magic is exactly that, MAGIC! All magicians learn the same tricks. What sets each apart is how they present their tricks. This guy had a nice routine that fit the "cruise ship" vibe. Either enjoy the magic or leave.
