It was a good try at promoting Weathertech to the uneducated user though!
I had the Weather Tech in my car for 7 years. 4 of those years I was a nanny to two girls. They still looked brand new when I eventually traded in the car. My dad actually took them and is still using them in his car. Highly recommend!
I have both and I find the Husky liner stays flexible where the WeatherTech liner turns hard and tends to "curl" in extremely cold weather. 👍👍for the husky liner.

I have both too. I like them both but would pick the Husky over the weathertech if I had to pick one. I guess it's all personal preference .
I've had both, and the Husky stood up better. Still have the set I bought. Weather Techs tend to curl up at the edges. Husky set still looks new, had it in my car since I bought it in '13.

2nd the huskys. I’ve been in several other people’s vehicles with WTs, and they offer too little friction. The huskys are softer, remain flexible, don’t get plasticy and curl. I have them in 2 current vehicles for the past 5 years, front and back, one with the contour fit or whatever, and one with the regular huskys. No complaints on either set. Some of the comparison “tests” on this video are ridiculous. How difficult is it to pull the label off? Not on my list of concerns. The huskys are nice and stay in place even if you don’t have a floor hook. The WTs feel like work truck floor liners.
@piezoman79
3 жыл бұрын
David Sanchez the contours are more plush/softer/flexible feeling than the standard huskys, and would highly recommend them if they’re available for your vehicle. But the regular huskys are still very nice and have really aggressive “spikes” to grip the carpet and stay in place very well, and still offer good friction for your feet. Both clean up easily with some simple green or similar all purpose cleaner to remove the winter salt. Not sure what the price difference between them is these days but if you can swing the extra few bucks and they’re available for your application, the contours are definitely top of the line, as far as rubber floor mats goes anyway 🍻

@David Sanchez i have a pair of husky's in my Tacoma. they're okay, the driver side matt was molded incorrectly or it got bent in shipping and doesnt sit right, the emblem fell off. and they gave me a hard time about giving me a new one when i called them on the molding. I had already decided on the Huskys just on the noise factor alone but yeah this thread helped me confirm that the Husky's are the better choice.
I have Husky's in my 2018 Tundra, I like the way they overlap the door sill. Also I like the more rubbery consistency of the Husky. I wanted WeatherTech until I researched and for my truck, Husky was a better choice for me.
Thank you. From whet I've seen I think I will order the Husky liner. To me I would prefer the softer material for the less plastic feel of it.
I have weather tech in my 500 Abarth, and they've been great mats for me. I hose em down, light scrub, and they look new.
Wonderful thorough review! I've got weathertech on my SUV and small car. It has the best fit by far. It literally looks like it's part of the car. I never take the mat off with liquid. I simply dab it with a paper towel or rag before removing it. That basically eliminates any risk of spillage.

I've had the weathertechs for my DD since 2016. They still look great. The quality is unmatched. The fitment is precise. We put them in all our cars. Best part is it keeps the factory carpet real clean.
Well that was a good comparison but since I got my WeatherTechs for 2$ at the junk yard my decision was easy.
I have weather tech in my Silverado, they work great. Especially the extra large information the rear, that goes under the seat. It covers the entire area.
Been buying Weathertech for over 10years. Never had any issues, when you take them out the original carpets were always perfect.

I just bought my wife WT floor liners for her Acura RDX for Xmas. They are not only cheap plastic, the edges curl up wards, so water, salt can get into the carpet. My next move is to try and use a heat gun to bend the edges down. the whole thing was a waste of time and money. I have a 4 year old set of WT mats in my truck, and they used to be thick rubber that fit correctly. They are making them now with inferior materials, and sloppy cutting.
Four Volvos (2005 XC90, 2009 S80, 2011 S60, 2018 V60 Cross Country). ALL with WeatherTech mats, with no reason to consider another brand. Made in USA, a tad more expensive, but for me, worth the extra cost. Easy install, easy clean. Done.

Great video. Very helpful. Thanks.
Husky Contour mats are great, if they make them for you vehicle I highly recommend them. The rubber texture makes them less slippery when getting in to the car with snow or mud on your shoes/boots. They are a little harder to clean but they are floor mats, who cares. Weathertechs are ok, but usually $30ish more than the Husky, which can be found on sale quite often.
Awesome! Review thanks for sharing
I have run husky liners in my truck since i bought it and do find them too hold up quite well to daily use and abuse. My girlfriend runs the weather techs in her truck and between the two i personally will take the husky liners because i notice my girlfriends mats tend too slide around a fair bit more but overall they are both good mats and you can’t go wrong either way

My mom put Weathertechs in her Rogue and I put Huskys in my Tacoma. I much prefer the non-slip quiet rubbery style to the Weathertech's more plasticky sound and slippery feel.
Just ordered a set of huskys. ive had weather tech in my other vehicles and they look like they will fix most the issues i see with weathertech... mainly very slippery when wet, liner tends to move around when getting in and out, and the edges always curl over time causing dirt to just get under them.
I have a 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee and love my weather tech mats, back seat cover and passenger back seat protector…. I’ve never tried Husky’s brand but I’ve never been disappointed with Weather Tech!
I have a medium tan color Weather Tech. The fit is great. I do find I have to use a brush to scrub the dirt out of the fine grain that is molded into the plastic. It won't just rinse off.
I appreciate the honest detailed comparison of both American made companies.

I love my weather techs the rear has slightly curled at the edges and the driver mat the emblem started coming off so I pulled it off and stuck it to the side of the mat and been there ever since
What would be a good idea to add to this video, an update.... Is how they age. Because over time, dirt can get into the plastic and make any mat fade it a brown dirt/mud color as my gray wheathertech mats did.

If your ride gets stuck in snow or mud, a floor mat pushed under the front edge of the tires that are spinning might provide enough traction to bring the tire forward out of the problem area. Looks like the Husky is more likely to provide the traction that might get you unstuck.

Guy sounded biased against Husky Liners from the start. I've used Husky liners in 5 vehicles without issue since early 2000. Never wore thru and protected my carpet. I was never crazy about the Weather Tech brand, I always felt it was just a knock-off of Husky. Not sure how your going to end up with all that water in your floor mat. If that happens you have more issue than a floor mat can help you with.

I prefer Husky liner xacts over weathertech's. I've owned both and I prefer the soft rubber and the way it feels/sounds. I also prefer the deeper grooves to keep my feet/pants from touching the water. Lastly I found all the weathertech's I've owned would fold in and not lay flat against the contours of the floor.
I just bought a set of WT and they no longer have the cheesy logo on them. This will be my 2 nd set as I purchased a new truck. The one thing I have to say is the WT fit perfect. It looks like WT upgraded their floor liners from the 1st set I bought. I had the WT in my first truck for 11 years with no problems. The only down size to WT is it does feel more like a work truck due to the harder plastic they use. Husky uses more of a rubber that cuts down on the noise. It’s totally up to the consumer but I give WT a slight advantage for the tight fit of the floor mats.

I have Weather Tech in my two trucks and have had two or three sets in previous trucks. I’m prettty happy with them but they do get a little ugly after a couple years hard use. Little more pricey than others but they do protect well. I always remove them in summer except for the camp truck. Bought a new Acadia and I’m looking at GMC OEM premium floor mats. They seem really great and there is a 20% off sale direct from GM through May. Between Weather Tech and Husky I do prefer Weather Tech.
The 3 sets of weather tech my dad used never really fit right. It always seemed to have a gap and move around a lot.
