This team made me fall in love with rugby! We celebrate the wins and we feel the losses with you. The World Cup result wasn’t the one we wanted but I honestly couldn’t have felt prouder. I went to a school where girls weren’t allowed to play rugby (even though my PE teacher played for England herself!) I am so immensely proud of the things this team has done (and continues to do) for women’s rugby and for the next generation of girls who will hopefully get the opportunity I never did. I so wish I had the chance to try rugby, but for now I will happily settle on being a lifelong fan of this squad! I can’t wait to see the Red Roses play at Twickenham (on my birthday too!)

Thank you England Roses what a game what a finish. Have always loved watching women's rugby and now thanks to you the rest of the world know what I know. It's exciting it's uplifting and it's a spectacle to be watched between teams that are and will give their all for their countries.

I was watching it live and was devastated for the red roses. I could see from how tired Abby Ward looked walking to her position for that final lineout that it was going to be a real challenge to get the drive going.... my heart sank as soon as the ball was knocked out of her hands...tragic moment really, but overall that final was easily the best match I've ever seen and the Red Roses showed just how strong a team they are by taking the world number 2 to a three point win despite being down to 14 for over three quarters of the match. Amazing performance.

I've never felt such emotion about losing in sport as that WC final. That shows the emotion and passion these ladies make me feel about the game. Fantastic team, amazing people!

Being a Maori of New Zealand the Red Roses played so well nothing to be ashamed of losing you played your hearts out with 14 players through most of the match and lose with a close score, hate to think what could of being if you had 15 players. Love and Respect to you all.

Tomorrow, everything starts again... The chance to win the first game of a new streak, the first putting on of the shirt for the new Roses, and the first steps towards WRWC2025. It also is chance to thank one of the greatest players of the game, Sarah Hunter. Hope the crowd and girls give you the send off you deserve! Roses are Red 🌹

Even with 14 players on the pitch, we had the beating of the Ferns and they knew it. Those last few minutes and that final play (the line out) when we changed tactics and throwing to the front, that lost us the game. 15 players on the pitch, we are the best team in the World.

The final should’ve had an experienced referee. There was blatant inconsistencies in the decisions.

Dont blame the 14 . You english rose have a chance to win it. Yes! You muckup your lineout to win the game so whats the problem. Rolling maul up against running . 2nd half, rose couldnt catchup when the ladies in black run the ball out wide. Stacy F untouch out wide geta try. Again, out wide, stacy flurhla cartwheel for letiinga to try. So whats the problem. 14? No excused. Even 15 against 15, doesnt make any different.

@@DarkMoonWayfarer Yep, there it is. Your self superiority gushes from your mouth. England paid for 2 of your World Cup wins, England have been the driving force behind women’s rugby concerning professionalism unlike your Nation. Also, I see your Nation supports women free speech I see.

Not very likely as NZ have dominated the game in Mens and Women rugby since the beginning. The covid isolation put NZ well behind the NH but now the game is white hot with massive growth because of that WC. England with retirements and a relatively old team will be lucky to make the final . NZ have have massive depth so a 7th world cup is expected not hoped for !!!
