Thank you for capturing such deep emotion. Sadness, depression, love. There is silence now, the ringing in my ears is more than science hears. I, I am joined with you in fears. So lonely, yet so together. Someone is in the cosmos and who cares. Respectfully, NHG

Kudos and Accolades to everyone that had anything to the making of this . Better plot acting and soundtrack than a movie four times longer with millions spent. Loved this in all aspects !!! ... Thanks a Mint and may this only be the opening door for much bigger things on the horizon .

OMG what a *great* film. Wonderful acting; the range of intense emotions these two exhibited was truly engrossing. Interesting story with a real science-y current running through it, as well. It seems so crazy to me that more people haven't seen it.

This was really wonderful! I'm not always a big fan of the twist ending or the "this was all in his head" endings, but i think this one fit perfectly. In some ways, the brother did find closure through "killing" the murderer. I think that closure is what allows him to accept his sister's love & support at the end. Previously, it was as if he had to hold her at arms length because love & kindness (& sugar!) would only lead to weakness and they would never be able to find this man who held such grave significance in their lives. I think he had to confront the killer because he was unable to confront the killer when he was a child. And so maybe, as well, he felt inferior in that way to his sister. She even said, "I was the one who was there" when, in actuality, they both were. He feels guilt and weakness when he did the smartest thing possible. And his sister did not choose to be in confrontation with the murderer, it was just where she was when the murders happened. He places worth (or lack thereof) on this false idea, false dichotomy of bravery. I also like that it is actually HIS mind who produces the answer that the murderer doesn't even remember this killing that was so horrifically devastating to the siblings. To be able to come to the conclusion on his own that his loss had no "deeper meaning" is actually incredibly brave as, I think, it is quite literally this very fear that follows him throughout the time we see him. Anyway, apparently I liked it. 😁 Great writing, acting, directing... everything. Thank you for sharing this. Ps. Is there a special significance to the sister and the pills? She is obviously using them to cope, but was she also selling them?

Thank you for your in depth analysis and how spot on it is. What a wonderful comment. As for your question there is no special significance of her selling pills it was just an addition to showing she lives her own life beyond her brother. This is the extended cut and those parts were cut out from the festival run version. I really appreciate your comment and I wish you all the best.

Very cool looking, compelling idea. Great production design, kudos right there. Unfortunately the story delivers its essential context in that cliched way of "people telling other people the context they already know" I was asking myself "Who are they after? why? what happened?" and the brother tells the sister all this context that she already knows. That's writing 101 on what not to do, the context needs to be organic, motivated and delivered in a compelling way, like a conflict (not an argument, as in here, where people already know the context being told to them) Let the viewer organically experience the context along with the main character, not be forcibly told it after the fact. I did like that he went all the way to track his parents' killer down, but then to have it be through the head device...it felt a little "it was all a dream/in his head." it took the weight and point out of the whole plot...what then? does he actually go and try to avenge his parents? show that.

Well done. Feels lika a professional production, has its own look and the story is interesting enough. The ending didn't make complete sense to me. What was it supposed to mean that the killer had a photo of the protagonist's family on his chest of drawers? Also, I can understand that the main character felt regret and maybe a sense that his life had lost its purpose now that he killed the murderer, and therefore intended to take his own life, but why was he hooked to the brain interface? What exactly did this thing even do? On another note, I've always found German acting to be hard and cold. Even the emotion conveyed by the trembling nose and lips of the actress seem buried under a layer of ice. I used to think Germans just are like that; now I think it manifests a certain self-loathe that Germans carry around with them since WW2.

Could it have been his mother's or father's brother? A cousin? That was strange. Why wouldn't the man remember what he had done?

Hi there , the ending represents the protagonists obsession with the killer , it was all in his head, he was sitting with the fmri headset on the entire time imagining what he would do. The family picture, furniture and props in the scene was all shown throughout the film. Getting revenge on the killer didn’t give him closure even in his thoughts but reconnecting with his sister did. Also this film is entirely South African
