With the teachers being absent situation, In my school (I live in seoul) in senior year; the older kids mainly have independent study where the teachers are absent for the most part, but come back like mid way through the day to do revision sessions and topic summaries which is why there are never any teachers in the room when something happens, which I understand as I am a Korean citizen however it’s understandable that you guys wouldn’t be able to know that 😂 (sorry for bad grammar, I’m still studying English)

Perfect English!!! Thanks for explaining, and I had a small feeling because I live in the US, and Seniors usually get free time/ aren’t watched as much when it comes down to like public charter schools/if the kids are good.

@tonaji_2004 I have no idea what you’re talking about, but what the OP is talking about is real life. Older or senior students aren’t watched over as much because they are expected to have the maturity of adults, so they aren’t babied as much as a seventh or eighth grader. Some teachers will leave the room up for to 15 to 20 minutes to do some thing else, and expect the students to behave as older students.

@tonaji_2004 lmao i get what you're tying to say but the 'more reasonable answer' was already explained by baejisu, who just told us that this kind of environment where there's no teacher is the norm in south korea, which is the setting where this kdrama (and the manhwa) is. so idk why you're referring the manhwa more than the actual korean citizen who just told us about how it is there. P.S i read the manhwa, but not everyone do, so the 'in real life' comparison is a lot more reasonable to be made as the example here.

I don't believe any of this is really si eun's fault. Him telling people to "move" is not rude, he just returns the energy of people he's interacting with. He's been bullied all up to now and knows how's these people work. He just not going to allow himself to continue to get bullied, be victim and etc. He just standing up for himself and honestly does not care if he gets hurt in the process. Even if he moved out of the way and tried to avoid them, they are asshole and would continue to harass him, that just how bullies work.

Idk if you noticed but this time he didn't open the window or switched on the light as suho was sleeping

I love this detail so much, everytime I watch it, my heart melted. The first time we could see SiEun cares about someone.

i mean anyone would be uptight and depressed if everyone around you would keep on bullying you for absolutely no reason. yeon si-eun is not unlikeable, his personality is just realistic.

it is his mom, in the first episode the dad asked sieun if they kept in touch, so the parents are separated. sieun probably said that he didn’t have a mom, because she’s not really involved (it seems like they don’t have any contact at all, he only sees her through her tutor videos)

Guys, with Korean names, the last name comes BEFORE the first name. So if the name is Yeon Sieun, the first name is Sieun and the last name is Yeon. Just like with "Park Jimin" for example.

Its just like that in Korea, Drug users are convicted harder than physical abusers, bullies or any other criminal activities out there (except for murderers I guess). The main guy hitting the bully was less serious than the bully using drugs. Its like very uncalling for your reputation. Society will drag you down more in the case of drug abuse than in case of you hitting someone. I hope I'm making sense English is not my first language sorry.
