@@CurseTheCosmos How many times can an (artist) repeat performance art? Hes done one version of this that actually reached a minor level of popularity. I'll admit, I truly enjoyed it. But to repeat the same approach over and over because that one video reached a small level of success doesnt mean you can relive that moment in every video, doing the exact same thing, over and over again. Hes actually very disappointing.

@@splashbrothas9791 Cool story bro. Is this a good time to point out that art - and indeed, life experiences - are completely subjective; and that everything you have stated in your comment as if it was fact, actually isn't? *_All_* artists, whether the extremely popular ones, such as Bach, Picasso, Ruebens, David Bowie, van Gogh, etc. or amateur, are consistently criticised for _not_ deviating their style _and_ for changing their style and trying something new! If Olivier de Sagazan - who you seem to be under the illusion is some obscure KZreadr desperate for views (minor popularity‽ As if KZread is some sort of real-world metric to measure how successful someone is!); instead of being the well-travelled, sought-after, influential, popular and _successful_ real-world artist - has found a way to make a living doing something he loves, then why do you feel the need to shit all over that? I _continue_ to thoroughly enjoy his art, as do many others.

You've only done one of these that was actually appealing. You've got to find another niche artistically. Have you ever watched a remake of your all time favorite movie? The outcome of a sequel is usually rubbish. Unless it's the godfather and we both know these dont reach that caliber of art. I honestly believed you had something for a second. Repeats kill the artistical value.

@@Mentocthemindtaker Are you a (try hard) pretending you have some incredible resume in the art world? You've already got on here putting this artist in the same category as Picasso and Bach. That shouldve embarrassed you enough to retreat back in your hole. When you referenced art styles in your last comment you were referring to people who use brushes and a canvas. Or instruments and singing. We can even throw in a chisel and a slab of granite. Painting, singing and sculpting is dramatically different than smashing clay on your face now isnt it? I'm not saying his work ain't art. I'm saying he took a good piece of art that was once successful (Its also the ONLY reason he got the very few subscribers he has now) and repeatedly tried to recreate the same outcome. How many different ways can you smear clumps of clay in your face while screaming and acting like a zombie from World War Z? It's safe to assume he was a one hit wonder.

@@splashbrothas9791 As I've already said, Olivier is highly successful already. In fact, he is more successful than many artists that we consider to be famous and popular were in their own lifetime. The fact that you consider KZread views to be a measure of a person's success shows that you have an _incredibly_ narrow and naive view of the world. If he is able to make a living performing his art that he enjoys creating - why should he stop? Is that not success? Why should he listen to a complete stranger in the KZread comments section on his video, who not only insulted him, his work, and his way of living? That's absurdity at its most profound. The fact that you think anything you said in your comment is going to have any effect on him is _incredibly_ arrogant.

  • @splashbrothas9791

@@Mentocthemindtaker What's arrogant is you assumed I cared enough to insult him. My comment is solely based on seeing him (again I'm repeating myself) repeat the same exact video over and over. Its ironic, you seem to be very intelligent and yet once again you've compared this artist with the founding fathers. You stated that these greats wasnt as popular in their time. I literally had to shake my head on that one. In THEIR time they had no phones, social media platforms, computers, televisions, news sources and the list goes on and on. To become world renowned in that era means you was something special. EVERYTHING was word of mouth. Based on the level of talent these individuals seen coming from said artists. Art was everything and meant everything in a time when all they had was painted portraits to remember loved ones. It even symbolized political status. That's just the painting side of art. I don't need to explain the significance of music and how it effected every moment of our history. Have you even researched the artist you've put on a pedestal? I have and his track record is far from impressive.

@@splashbrothas9791 You seem to have completely missed both the points you're responding to. I said it was arrogant of you to assume that your comment on KZread is going to affect the artist, his work, his behaviour or any other aspect of his world in any meaningful way, except to be dismissed as the unhelpful, useless comment that it is. I haven't put him on a pedestal at all. I was saying that if he is an established artist (which he is), is able to make a living doing what he enjoys doing (which he does), and is able to provide something that other people see value in (which, again, he does), then who-the-fuck do you think you are to attempt to dismiss _all of that_ and expect him to just stop what he's doing _*because you don't think it's any good and made a KZread comment saying so‽_ Basically, I think you're acting like a dickhead and calling you out for it. There was no reason for you to comment what you did, it achieved nothing - except for this conversation - and discussing the artistic merits of Olivier's work is meaningless in this context. It doesn't matter if he's on the level of Picasso, or the cleaner who messed up the priceless fresco of Jesus in her church and tried to fix it, he enjoys what he does and can make a living out of it and, obviously, many, many people get meaning and enjoyment from it. You honestly think he should change that because *_YOU_* said so‽
