People made statements like Olivier is insane, from watching this and the video just named The Transfiguration, I realized that he is not insane, He shows art to us from a completely different perspective. Using his entire body as a canvas, by constantly failing, he applies another piece of clay to his face, remaking the one he was gonna make or just make another one. And while making it, he gets energetic and proceeds to go rough into making it.Muttering things to himself and\or moving his hands in his air as if he is helping a majestic something flow through the air with nothing but his own hands as if he were creating ripples in the water to make a paper boat move further. This is some serious art on a totally different level. That's Amazing! EDIT: Forgot to mention that he goes violent as it goes further and makes abstract art with his own body. Seeming like insanity to some, and amazing art to some.

The beauty of this is that you can interpret it anyway you want. Some see insanity, others anxiety, and even some see ridiculousness. Personally I see art rapidly changing from one thing to the next. An idea coliding with other ideas destroying as it creates new ideas.

My interpretation goes more like this: I see a man who, as the world says he should, makes a mask. But the more he makes one, and tries to perfect it, feels the need to modify it, or even start over. And he does this multiple times, nearly ad infinitum, and the more he modifies, the more he tries to perfect his worldly mask, the more agitated and erratic he becomes due to the inevitable impossibility to reach true perfection, as he occasionally shakes it all off, nearly revealing his true face, before relapsing into creating a new mask as he, or we, have been told to do.

Too me, this represents how we as people change over time, and it's not alwaysgood change. Constantly remasking yourself to fit into your surroundings. Ane the brief moments when he needs air, the short breaks we get when we are finally able to be our true selves. Only to put on another mask soon after, cause you can't be alone with yourself forever.

We build and cover our real faces with layer after layer, forging a mask. At times we can't even breathe because of that mask, so we try to "wash it off" but we quickly replace it with a new one. A never ending cycle of trying to be something else, not necessarily better just different - something more... accepted. This irrational desire to change so we become more likeable eventually leads to a point where we lose ourselves, we lose our minds. The once true face becomes nothing more than a faint outline - a foundation for whatever new face we decide to put on. A foundation for the new normal.

Might look like there`s something wrong with Olivier to people that are trapped in the society`s code of conduct and can`t explore different facets of the soul. What catches me is the bizarre, and how the brain takes time to interpret the picture. He has a message behind it, actually a simple one, but the disturbing aesthetic was enough for me to like it.

The meaning I saw in this was: business men, or any figure with extreme power of the world, slowly becomes a monster and grows insane because of thirst of power and greed, and how inside themselves they become angry and malicious and hide their true form to manipulate. I think the black paint symbolizes "being able to see" and red paint symbolizes pain, agony, anger and lies, which he tries desperately to add to his image in place of truth and peace.
