This is brilliant! and interesting. This complete artist, must be respected. You're afraid of what you do not know, or do you recognize it. Fear of unknown. Afraid of what you see and do not arrive To analyze. Afraid of unknown. When it misses your usual codes. This is performance art, and emotional psychologically... The artist reveals and lays bare you show its truth, its design and a universe, that he wants to share. This universe is troubling you Inevitably, since you're aggressive with him! Art is neither beautiful nor ugly, it is often a reflection of yourself.

So true,so true .most people seem ignorant to this and stay closed up hiding in the horror and fear of only what they think the worst about.but the ones who are open to the other realms and are going about. It the right way are having a lot of great things to experience,go out and explore the universe .its there for us to be a part of.

Same. I remember seeing this video on one of my school classes. Everybody was disgussed and me as well. I was happy about such new emotion. I've been trying to find this video for a couple of years, because I didn't know its name. Finally I did. This guy scared and reminds me of myself, of the feelings I have sometimes (I have anxiety-depressive disorder).
Performance art is a quite interesting thing. It's not representative, the meaning behind it is often convoluted, and most often it's about spectacle. Consequently, there are people who hurr durr this isn't art and hurr durr I could've done this, but the thing is, that you couldn't have, or at least, not to the level that this guy did it.
@Skullkan6

With performance art what people don't know is that YOUR REACTION is very often a big part of what the intent of the art might be. Desagazan tries going into ideas like "what do we see as 'human'?", but what comes out of it isn't always that. Performance art has always been that way. It's not "talentless" because it takes balls to do something weird or crazy infront of a group of people you don't know, let alone when they probably aren't going to know what's going on.
@robokill387
9 жыл бұрын
Skullkan6 "it takes balls to do something weird or crazy in front of a group of people you don't know" how is that relevant? no, being an exhibitionist =/= talent, that's literally not what the word means. "Performance art has always been that way." yes, because it's always been bad, pretentious and talentless. not helping your case.
@Skullkan6
9 жыл бұрын
robokill387 How can it be objectively bad when many times it can affect people ever more than normal painted, filmed or written art? The element you're missing here is actually being there, which is how most performance art works at being so powerful. Would you still say this if Oliver DeSagazan was right there infront of you? How about if Marina Abrhahamovic did her "The Artist is Present Piece" or "Rhythm Zero" (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marina_Abramovi%C4%87#Rhythm_0:_1974 ) or is your opinion on this formed by whatever you see on the news or lazy pricks at art college? Even if you're only trying to get me mad here, joke's on you, I LOVE talking about performance art, even if it's all about defending it from someone who doesn't know what they're talking about.
@robokill387

Skullkan6 "How can it be objectively bad when many times it can affect people ever more than normal painted, filmed or written art?" because those people are also objectively bad. and yes, I have seen the pieces you have linked to. they're also terrible.

Lo horrendo como categoría estética. Sobrecogedor trabajo.

It's disturbing, all right. And brilliant. The man's a true artist. He's done with paint and other "ordinary" household objects what the animation artists do with technology, and frankly, his work is more fabulously horrifying because of it. Bravo!
