Thank you for watching. 😊 We've pretty much had a few issues in all our RV's and truck. In our Outdoors RV travel trailer, the shower door leaked for weeks, the table was misassembled, the finish was flaking off the drawers fronts and almost all of the drawers wouldn't open/close without extreme force! We also had issues with our "top of the line" Airstream and Mercedes. City water inlet leak, loose plumbing connections, and very expensive emissions issues with the MB engine. Also had a warranty saftey issue recall with our Ford that nagged for almost a year before finally getting it fixed. Anything manmade will need fixing at some point so even with all the issues on every one of our RV's we're still happy to be alive, healthy, and living our dream. 😊 Life's good. RV owners are the only people i know who spend a lot of money on a product while accepting much less. I never owned one that didnt take at least 2 years to get poor workmanship corrected. The industry definitely needs to be regulated. I wish you the best. For me..... I returned to backpacking and couldn't be happier.

its is not difficult to glue up PVC connections so that they do not leak. This simply is poor workmanship and QC at the factory. That drain pipe was not even glued at all. It appeared to be dry connected. The drain plug and pipe leaks demonstrate a team of amatures assembeled the RV. If you as the new owner are taking the time to run water down the drain to check for leaks, I would have thought the manufacturer in their QC program could have done the same. Apparently they do not have a QC program, otherwise they would have noticed those leaks. The answer is to avoid that manufacturer. I completely disagree that this should be a normal expectation to work out new ownership problems.

I purchased a “NEW” Avenue 36 BRM and have had nothing but problems within 4 months of ownership. Leveling system inoperable, busted trim pieces. Faulty grey/black tank valves. Faulty kitchen plumbing. Awnings don’t shut, keeps blowing the hides. Slide 3 doesn’t shut. Both A/C systems don’t cool below 10 degree from ambient temp. And alliance customer service is a joke. I hate it for ya. Glad you uploaded a video, maybe it will educate people on going a different route for their camper purchase.

OMG, the amount of wiring & tubing below decks at 14:07 into this video was frightening given that this Fifth Wheel shakes, rattles & roles down the road. My wife & I love your channel; because it confirms for us after every episode that we did the correct thing in retirement by not getting an RV. We bought a Jeep to take it on occasional shorter trips and used the money we would have spent on an RV to stay in boutique hotels. We don’t get to travel as much or as far but then again there are no leaks. The Jeep could break, but it’s easy to have it towed to the nearest dealer, and take a rent a car home. And again, with the money we saved not buying an RV just pay to have a Car Transport ship the Jeep back. At our age we’re tired of adventure we just want an occasional cool vacation. LOL!

When it comes to going to rallies and having service done, the rest of us have to pay hundreds of dollars just to attend, not counting the actual camping fees.

Alliance has never claimed to be perfect. They simply go above and beyond with customer service to ensure a great outcome and it is their customer service that elevates them above the rest. Owners have the cell numbers of the owners and the VPs so if there is any major issue or concern, it can be addressed quickly. I've posted a question on the Facebook group on Independence Day weekend (they've already announced they will be away for a few days with their families) and within 20 minutes I received a call from the VP of Customer Experience to answer my questions. THAT'S what makes Alliance better than everyone else. Not perfect but better.

My wife and I purchased an Alliance 2 months ago and it spent 6 of 9 weeks at the dealer getting plumbing replaced, roof replaced, trim replaced, leveling system repaired. We got it back and three days later traded for a Jayco. Way we saw it was if it had that many problems and we hadn’t had it for a month then it probably wouldn’t be standing in 10 years.

I don’t know why these manufacturers don’t run water through all the lines and drains and fill the tanks as part of the quality control inspection. They can blow the lines out with air before sending them to the dealer. I had a brand new RV that had a leak in the fresh tank that could have easily been caught if they had tested the tank by filling it.

Good to see the smile stay on your faces. Here is what I don't get. Back in the day I helped inspect cars that were going to the Auto Show. They had to be PERFECT and we made sure they were. Now the same thing happened to Changing Lanes. You pick up a new unit and the manufacture KNOWS you are a big time KZreadr. How in the heck can't they at least make yours or Changing Lanes perfect. If I owned the company first I would make sure everything was perfect and checked multiple times. I would never allow a new RV of my company to go out with issues to big KZreadrs. That would start and emphasis the culture. It might start with yours but I would put a huge priority on the majority of my units being trouble free from the factory. I know there is a lot of human building but I don't see that as an excuse. As the Owner I would give every new customer my phone number and ask them to report to me any issues. Sorry to be such a sour puss but I just don't see any good excuses for someone spending good money on a new unit and having to fix stuff shortly after the delivery. Can things happen? Sure but they better be few and far between. Accountability starts at the top. I also am old enough to remember when cars were delivered to the dealership and were a mess. Big 3 didn't care. Then Honda and others starting showing up with superior quality control and shock the public starting buying them. It took the Big 3 some time to learn the lesson but finally they did. Rant over.

Wow, what a blessing that you caught that and were able to get it fixed right away! My first RV was a used Class C back in 2012. This was before RVing was quite so popular...plus.....I had never owned or been in an RV before! The RV was an '09 Coachman with a bunk over the cab. A year later we discovered the front window in the bunk over the cab had been leaking for a long time. Maybe since we bought it, maybe a few years before, we'll never know! Since the padding was covered in plastic, nothing ever seemed wet. What a terrible mess and much rotten wood!! My daughter and I learned a ton of lessons during the five years we lived in that RV including how to deal with leaks, window repair, roof repair, plumbing repair, how to unclog a sewer line and many, many other things! Ha! It was definitely a learning experience! We've since bought a new travel trailer, but what i discovered is that you were absolutely right in saying that whether new or used, there will most likely always be something to deal with in an RV. Thanks for sharing! :)

Agreed. I think the only way to see improvement in RV quality is for consumers to stop saying, “well that’s just how it is”. This is a well over $100k product, and somebody’s job was to glue ABS drain pipe together and they just couldn’t be bothered to see it through. And then the QC process failed to catch it because either that process is flawed, or that individual didn’t care enough either. That’s crazy. Was the guy who was on the line that day written up? I hope so. I am glad this was shown on KZread, that’s the one good thing. I hope they are embarrassed by it, because they should be. This doesn’t make them a bad manufacturer, but it does show that even the brands we hold up as being better than most, are still making too many mistakes.

You were lucky to be going to the rally because most times it's a bitch getting into a dealership and getting the stuff fixed. Informative presentation & you have saved other RVers from water leaking by learning from your mishap. Good thing in the under-storage compartment the first box was a plastic bin so if did get wet whatever was inside was not water damaged. Wise to have plastic instead of cardboard. Could you have a water alarm in that area (& by the machine) so you would hear if there was any water leaking from any of those pipes? The battery operated ones are reasonable price under $20.

I had a similar problem the first time I took my trailer out for a weekend. With water draining from the sink unto the floor, I ended up doing a temporary repair to the kitchen sink drainage system to get us through the long weekend and immediately delivered my trailer back to the dealership after informing them of the problem and our schedule for the summer. They gave us the "no appt.s available for three weeks" story but I told them I was camping nearby and would be bringing the trailer in on my way back from camping and expected them to store and repair the trailer under warranty. I dropped the trailer off and a week later was informed that it had been repaired and I could pick it up which I did. Seven years later there have been no further water problems with the trailer and the few other problems that have occurred have been covered under our long term warranty. When buying a new trailer always be prepared for the warranty issues as I've yet to hear of even the most expensive trailers and RVs being trouble free from the factory.

We also had mud flaps on the truck but it doesn't get everything - anyway, we put a protective clear film - over it and the compartment door - it's the same stuff they use for a clear bra on the front of the truck - I would think about doing it to keep it looking new.

I'm thinking that this came up because of the "rolling earthquake" phenomenon. Thinking about it, it's amazing that RVs tolerate road forces as well as they do. And I'd certainly bet those pipes were connected by when it left the factory. But with an RV, the term "shakedown trip" is evidently quite literal! And it could be almost the only way to discover what could be jarred loose when the RV is in motion. So, yes, just as you said, we can all expect that a first trip in a new RV could expose some weaknesses; it's just the way it is. So thank you for showing us what real life can be like. And enjoy your new on-board, personal mini laundromat!

The pvc fitting wasn’t glued right at the factory. If it were, the pvc would break before the glue joint fails. It literally melts the “plastic” together.

We have an Avenue 32RLS and we love it, but we’ve had a few problem that we’re fixed by here dealer after our first summer of camping. I wish Alliance would have a 2-3 yrs warranty like Jayco (our first camper cost less than half of our alliance and had twice the warranty timeframe), but it is what it is. Like others have said, while Alliance has great service, some of these issues like yours should never have happened. Thanks for sharing with us.

We had an all in one machine when we moved into our log home because of the lack of mechanicals and not wanting to poke holes in our house. Unfortunately it had a short life. Started making a noise that 3 repairs couldn't fix and it was determined a lemon. Love the concept, but we just have a washer and dry outside or clothes rack inside. So sorry you had to go through take. Things like this make me think future problems may have stemmed from the first problem. Glad they fixed youz up.😢🧺💧

I used to work for Sears and when they delivered a washer the drain hose had a U shaped piece the the hose went through kind of like a candy cane to shape the hose and also limit how far down the pipe the hose would go. If the hose went too far it could start to siphon water out of the washer. They would also tie rap the hose to something to keep it in the pipe. They had a lot of water damage clamps because the newer washers pumped out so fast it could lift the hose out of the pipe. Once the hose falls to the floor the water keeps running out because it’s draining as fast as it try’s to fill. So the water never stops until you turn the washer off. What a mess!!!

Ugh. A completely disconnected pipe shows that Alliance as room to grow in their quality standards. This should never, ever have happened. A good quality control would be to have a second person confirm the work of the first person who was suppose to attach the hose - and - they should have run water down the pipe as part of their quality check process ... just as you did. Not rocket science and the quality principles are well known.

Yes! Check everything!!! Our 1st trip out, yes 1st, our awning motor arm broke in half and the awning came crashing down, on the same trip we were getting a solar system installed and while we were in the basement wiring things up we heard what sounded like someone was washing their car and found it was us and both connections at the hot water tank came loose and was spraying water everywhere again while we were in there with wires everywhere and a lot of it was live. I also found why we weren't getting any rear heat...they pinched off the ducts right at the furnace with how they ran the pex tubing so I had to run all new pex and now it's ran neatly but theres been so many things we've uncovered that have been improved or repaired and in the 2 seasons we've owned it I think the bugs are worked out.

Bummer on the laundry leak, but the good news, you have a laundry! You might want to use a laundromat for washing the bulky bed covers. That washer doesn't look that large. Glad you got it fixed quickly. Everything I have read and watched said expect issues with a new RV. We bought our trailer in early 2022, and on the second trip the 12V DC fridge died. My son and I ended up removing the fridge and troubleshooting the problem. Found a bad connection to the compressor. Luckily we were able to fix it and reinstall everything, and the trip was saved. It seemed like it took all summer to work through the little issues, it was very Frustrating. I hope you are done with the issues on your new home.

So much for quality control, I have owned a lot of RV's over the years and the old ( Executive coach) was by far the best. The newer campers and trailers were the worst for problems like you experienced. no attention to detail or testing under real use. Once you get the gremlins out you should be OK. I would suggest you buy a bag of the correct PEX pipe clamps and the crimp tool for when they leak. Happy travels.

Not a good look for Alliance... but hey, shows they're just another RV manufacturer. An RV that went out the door with incomplete plumbing is typical. I guess Alliance is no different in their quality standards. I mean seriously? An ABS drain connection with NO GLUE? Really? Oh... we just "forgot". There should be a supervisor with a checkoff list for EVERY station.

Glad you were able to sort out the plumbing issue. It is a reality as you say, that virtually every RV has a few initial issues. We have had 4 trailers now, and ironically the only one that never had a single issue was the least expensive one we ever had. We had a 2016 Hideout 178LHS, which we paid less than $11K for new. We used it for 80 nights and towed it just under 9,000 miles and not a single thing ever went wrong. It was simple and basic and it worked. Have had several trailers since that have all had some issues, from needing a failed fridge changed, to an incorrectly wired hot water heater that only heated when it wanted to. Also a shower drain pipe that was basically set up as a load support until it failed and filled the underbelly with shower water etc. etc. Everything does get sorted out, but I have to give that 2016 Hideout credit..... I am sure you will/have get everything sorted, and Alliance seems to be a really good product...best of luck with it, and as always, safe travels.

We also have a 295MK that we got at about the same time you two did. A few minor issues here and there, but Alliance has been great at sending us parts, and authorizing a mobile RV Tech. Since we also full-time, dropping it off at a dealership is not really a possibility. As far as access to the plumbing, I found that also unscrewing the next piece of wood inboard from that removable panel helped. I was able to crawl quite far in to the belly that way. In fact, almost all the was to the converter/fuse box. Not fun, but doable. And as you pointed out, a great idea to look behind the nautilus after some time on the road. Most everything is accessible, and easy to work on, despite how it might appear.

We paid for an independent inspector to check the brand new unit, then had the dealer fix problems before we signed the bill of sale and drove off with our brand new motorhome. It’s been only four weeks but no issues except a neighbor’s weedwacker sent a string flying to a window and broke it into little pieces. Now searching for local repair service. We’re only three days into the search after making numerous calls. Our dealer is a four hour drive from our home and prefer to avoid long drive. We’ve ordered a replacement window from the manufacturer of the motorhome. Hopefully by the time we receive it we will have found someone to install. Issues with homes on wheels are unavoidable even when we do everything we can to keep anything from happening. Wishing you safe and hassle free travels.

I just watched a video last night of a factory tour and it was both impressive and dismaying. Impressive in that they did so many things with cranes and stuff but dismayed by the mess. I find a neat work place mandatory for clear thinking. They had stuff all over the floor. It’s still a very new company and honestly think they will improve over time. Consider checking your junction box where your power cord connects to your fifth wheel. Many manufacturers use wire nuts and they eventually arc and burn not only the wire but the wire nut itself. It also causes a shock hazard. We have a Winnebago Navion This happened to us. This is not an isolated case. Volta connected using wire nuts on a brand new fifth wheel. It's shocking.
