The island of Java from July to August is like winter, temperatures in the highlands can drop to 0°c.

I went there in the rainy season, it rained the day before I arrived and it was super cold

of course it is freezing, mid-year is considered as south hemisphere winter, so mountain temperature during that time in Indonesia would be much colder than what it usually is. And also the Bromo summit is at the elevation of 2500 meter something… Last time I went to Bromo on December, the temperature at the summit was 8-10 degree. That was the typical temperature during south hemisphere summer time.😂 Cannot imagine what the actual temperature was in July/August 😂… It would be closer to zero I suppose.
