YEARS ago I bought an all region player... I can watch any BR or DVD from around the world, it's especially sweet when other countries release things that you can't get here... for example Trick or Treat (86) has been out of print for years, I had to get the German Bluray (it includes the English audio of course) as well as The First Power (90) which is out of print in the U.S. but I got the U.K. bluray which looks amazing on screen, not to mention certain boxsets that don't get a U.S. release for various reasons such as distribution rights etc.

Love this so much! HMV is definitely the kinda store where I could spend the entire day there and still not see everything! You’d catch me in the horror section all day!! I’d practically live there! Sorry that you got so violently sick! That’s such a bummer!! Must be the perpetual British drabby weather lol I’m glad that you’re starting to feel better! Seeing so many physical media makes me glad to see that there’s still a market for that cuz I keep seeing store after store close here in the states, I’m honestly worried.. I’ve never been to London and I’d love to go someday. The only thing is that the US dollar doesn’t go very far in that country so you really gotta save up to go lol some of my horror friends went and spent thousands of dollars!! Thank you again my dark mistress for keeping us fed with the spooky outings!! Always down to hang where the vibes are spooky and the physical media is plenty! Safe travels!

Sorry you were sick while travelling. That's the worst. I'm truly jealous of England just for HMV alone, I loved shopping for movies in person. I appreciate the Funko Pop jab, they honestly don't get enough hate.

I loved this! The stuff in that shop is pretty amazing. And it's crazy seeing all that physical media with a lot of it going away. Despite the vlog, being short I still enjoyed it. I'm sorry you got really sick. Hope you're feeling better now since then and enjoying the rest of your trip

Fopp in Covent Garden is probably the nicest place to shop for physical media in London. The HMV you went to is tiny compared to what existed on Oxford street 20;yrs ago. Forbidden planet is another place that has physical media but caters to comic book and nerd culture.

There’s another huge physical media shop called FOPP near Covent Garden in London. It’s a really great store

I order most of my physical media from HMV, and always with 20% off codes online you get great prices. Especially for those pricey preorders. A region free player is totally worth it, I bought one at Christmas and have no regrets. I love being able to play US Blu-rays.

The HMV Shop looks monster mashed between SPIRIT Halloween, Hot Topic, Spencers (minus adult film actresses’ lingerie fashion line and sex toys if HMV needs those) and Barnes & Nobles together.

I live in UK and have been to the HMV in Shrewsbury a few times (couple years ago now) lovely shops but so so so expensive.

HMV does have some good deals but me and my mate calls the HFM (how f**king much lol).

Hey Kylie, hope you had a great time in London, sorry to hear you got sick over here, but yeah HMV is awesome for physical media and merch, it is expensive you’re right but they are definitely keeping physical media alive. Just saw the strangers chapter 1, curious to hear your thoughts on it as always, although I suspect a rant incoming 🤣

if you think the little age labels on the british dvds are bad, check out german ones. they're kinda huge. super annoying 🤣🤣🤣

Chicagoland used to have a lot of physical media stores. Virgin megastore, Crow's Nest, Tower records, Coconuts, Musicland, Rose Records, Fry's Electronics, etc. With the exception of some independent stores, and FYE, there aren't much left.

i miss hmv so much, they closed all their locations in canada back in 2017:(

I live in Liverpool, and I used to go in HMV a lot, but the prices are ridiculous. They used to have a great deal of 3 Bluray for 20 or 5 for 30, but the store chain nearly collapsed 5 years ago, and they got rid of the offer. I don't really go into HMV because of the prices these days but it's still good to browse occasionally.

Love the HMV store (only recently re-opened) and it does have a decent selection upstairs of blu-ray, DVD etc. Personally, prefer the FOPP store off Earlham St / Covent Garden and their downstairs selection of blu-rays and 4Ks and DVDs. Miss many of the old stores that we used to have just around the corner as well. Bought a few blurays in HMV, mainly though get them in my home town of Maidstone. The CEX store is always a great source, just got and watching City Of The Living Dead for a decent price as well as a load of other Italian collection blu-rays. I agree, big frustration being the region A / B etc on blu-rays, at least the 4K are not so bad. And yes, those stickers on age etc are plain daft. And who understands Funko Pop ?? Totally baffling

The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Chrome Dome DVD blew my mind when I saw it in your video. Because that was a prime time TV special that only aired once in America (as far as I know). I haven't seen it since I was 8 or something. Had no idea it was even on physical media! I thought it had been lost to time. That DVD has to be crazy rare haha

I wish more Americans would open themselves up to other countries' physical media releases. I order from HMV regularly, as well as two dozen other stores all over the world, especially Germany, Korea and Australia. It's kinda mind boggling how most Americans still, more than 26 years later, only shop locally. They're missing on so many interesting releases. Don't know what happened health-wise, but you look great! P.S. English weather sucks, I only lived there a few months and hated it. 😂

@@KylieRoseanne It can be, yes, but doesn't have to be always, if one uses a freight forwarder to ship multiple consolidated orders in one package, and buys on sales (if it's not a limited edition of course, those sell out on preorders, sometimes in 90 seconds, like Manta Lab 😂)

Yes it was short but it was still sweet. Yes getting sick on vacation is a bummer. I got sick in Paris once 😜 I was glad a daughter told me to take charcoal tablets, it helped. Ahh, the subways trains, I know them well growing up in New York. I liked the “it” cup. Buy it for me and I’ll send you the money. 😉 ( just kidding) 🙂 It was nice. I know I’m a guy and I’m not supposed to like it, but I do like shopping. You did’t say that you got anything. Yes things are tight. But when you come back you’ll have some nice stuff in your P.O. Box. This time not all physical media. You could say a few surprises from us maggots. 😉🙂
