This is just so wonderful that all of the Chow Chow owners got together to meet each other and let their Chow Chow's play with each other. That had to be the best day ever for everyone ❤ 💕 I love this so much I can't stop smiling. Watching this one again and again.

Chow chows look like teddy bears. If I have one I would be grooming and cuddling it all the time

I had a chow r.i.p ebony. We rarely let anybody pet her she was very protective and well trained.

No, They are not aggressive dogs. They are very wery of strangers however. It mostly balances on how much the dog was solicialised as a puppy. They characteristically never bark, but mine do lol. Mine have a strong dislike towards cats, and take about 6-9 months to approach/warm to a family friend. Lazy in comparison to my collie (most dogs are :P ) Mine have never been fond of younger children, as highly dislike being approached by older children... That is mainly due to being raised only within close family and no other animals. My brothers chows are somewhat on the other end of the scale for the most part. Most important tip regarding chows... watch their eyes when you approach them, they will give you subtle hints on what their next move could be... and like a horse... dont sneak up on them :)

They mostly have the label of being aggressive because they were often used in dog fighting. This breed is actually very sweet and loving. They are cautious but not aggressive. My chow chow is the sweetest dog I have ever owned.

I prefer the more uncommon smooth coated variety since dealing with that long hair is not for me. A Chow needs to be approached from the front, like the person who approached the red Chow did and never from the sides or from the back. Believe me, they have lightning quick reflexes.
