If I remember correctly when they went to Comedy Central with an episode about showing Mohammed Comedy Central told them they wouldn’t air that episode so they then decided to make an episode criticizing the censorship instead.

Fun fact: The reason the moral of the episode that was bleeped is because the morale was that if you don't want to be made fun of, all you need are guns and bombs and to instill fear and be willing to hurt people, the only true power is violence.

The reason why kyles speech was completely censored near the end was actually really dark, the full speech was originally uncensored until it reached Comedy Central and they received threats from a muslim terrorist organisation and they threatened to assassinate Matt and Trey over the showing of Muhammad and the overall episode in general, this made Comedy Central permanently censor Kyle’s speech as it was indirectly roasting the terrorists, saying that the only way people get to listen is through threats. If they had uncensored it, the show’s creators would have been killed. This is only time South Park has lost

As a Muslim I still find it hilarious, when I was kid and when they showed prophet Mohammed (S.A.W)( I think they did) my sister quickly switched the channel cuz she thought we were in trouble, now It’s stupid when a Muslim goes apeshit over an image of him like someone just fucked their mom, if anyone is curious the reason why Mohammed didn’t want anyone to show his image is cuz when an artist asked him if he could draw him, he said no cuz he did want to people to start worshipping his image instead of God, now Muslims are treating his image as some holy deity basically doing the opposite of what he wanted

Also, it's a bit ironic that many muslims are weirdly okay when it's the other prophets face that shows up, like moses and jesus. I remember having a book about the story of prophets which all the other 24 prophets have their face drawn but Muhammad is just his name floating around. Though, some muslim country did banned The Prince of Egypt for the same reason why we are not supposed to see a drawing of Muhammad face, except it's moses.

“The magical power of threatening people with violence.” I’ve never forgotten that line, and how it was banned because it’s just too honest. You never get media being that straight with you, South Park are fearless. I was in my high school newspaper when 200-201 came out and we discussed it at length in the week after the first one before the second. I’ve scarcely been so disappointed by the outcome of a cultural event: Muhammad never being shown, but especially Kyle’s speech being censored, was a tragedy; the silencing of discussion.

To watch 200 and 201 you basically needed to watch the entire show

From what I remember the original depiction of the Super Best Friends used Mohammed with the justification that since *everyone* in South Park has a generic face it wasn't really a portrait or specific rendition of him. It's similar in concept to how a few films that have been made in the Middle East used actors to portray the prophet without showing his face.

‘Chef Goes Nanners’ is a great episode to watch and comment on. The chef plot is really relevant and also reveals why cartman bullies Wendy lol

The reason Barbara Streisand is a mecha is because in one of the very early episodes she turned into a mecha kaiju when she got pissed off when the boys didn't like her singing. Then she fought the lead singer of the cure who is also able to turn into a kaiju. Every single person or group in 200 & 201 had at least 1 episode dedicated to them prior, whether they be the ginger kids, kanye, mickey mouse, rob reiner, or paris hilton.

This reaction is a very good reason why you need to watch south park chronologically. Seriously, the amount of call backs and references they missed is astounding. And unfortunately, my Asperger's require me to be unhealthy obsessed with lore and representation.

The part when cartman is crying about his dad being a ginger is one of the funniest and one of the most fucked up moments I have ever seen on television and I can’t help but burst out laughing whenever I see it

The trouble with 200 and 201 is that the whole point is that it’s sort of the Infinity war of South Park. It’s all about references and callbacks to everything from the last 200 episodes. So if you didn’t watch them all you’re gonna be lost

I need to know whether the guys actually knew that Scott Tenorman's scenes were literally based on when Joker tortured Commissioner Gordon in Batman: The Killing Joke or if their comparing him to Joker was a lucky coincidence.

my dog is dying. she can barely stand or walk. she isn't eating, she is hardly drinking. i have to pick her up and take her outside when she needs to pee. i don't know what to do. home doesn't feel like home. her tail still wags when she sees me. her eyes still light up when i walk over to pet her. but i know that even though she is still living, she is suffering. she will most lightly be put down sunday. nothing feels real. thank you spilling the milk, for giving me something to watch while i sit by her and pet her. thank you for making my last moments with her a little more bearable. edit: she just died, on the way to the vet to get her euthanized Maggy Preston died with my hand on her head. The saddest and funniest thing about the 200 episode special is that the writers did not intend to censor Muhammad but was without their knowledge. I and many others assumed it was meant to be ironic or something that he was so heavily censored when he actually wasn't.

The infamous 200 and 201. They have to be the most controversial in TV history. It's a shame the message got censored. If anything, the censorship proved one thing, it is that terrorism does work when people are fearful of violence.

This was the 200th episode and to celebrate they pretty much used every antagonist they've ever used so if you haven't seen every episode before them then this episode makes no sense😂

Watching 200 and 201 before watching episodes 1-199 was a big mistake, so many missed references 😔

The episode with all the celebrities trying to destroy South Park is a call back to a whole lot of earlier episodes so if you've seen them all it's a lot easier to understand if you haven't then you won't get most of what they are referencing.

The second half of this video proves that sometimes it’s better to watch an episodic show chronologically

Matt and Trey were fine showing Muhamad it was Comedy Central who said no and put the censor bar up

Simpsons showed their support for South Park in a chalkboard gag "South Park, we stand beside you if we weren't so scared"

The story makes way more sense if you have seen all the episodes before it Since it is filled with references to past episodes most of which you have not seen So Barbra Streisand being a mecha robot and the cartmans dad saga, or the gingers being there at all, the ending with Tom cruise on the moon, or Cartmans hand puppet. All of it was shown in earlier episodes

As a Buddist myself, it's kinda funny to see lord Buddah doing lines especially because one of our 5 precepts is to refrain from intoxication that cloud the mind like drugs. Especially because reaching Nirvana is the ultimate high and technically lines of coke would take you there.

Its worth pointing out that these episodes were not made illegal, but the company decided to stop showing them.

In islam, were told to leave things if we cannot do anything about them, and just know there wrong, that's why most the time, it's either one of two, a muslim having a temper tantrum at these episodes which you see with your own two eyes in a comment section and the other, you not actually seeing the majority that didn't even leave a comment, react or give a shit, even tho they saw it.
