We've Never Seen Anything Like This Before (2024 Millrose Games Mile)

Спорт

The 2024 Millrose Games was an incredible competition with multiple world records going down throughout the event, however 1 race was tragically underreported and it brought out 4 of the greatest performances that we have ever seen.

I'm so saddened. The biggest loss is to his family, but I was just waiting for him to be the first to break 2 hours for the marathon. He would have done it, but the God above has greater purposes for him.

Yared hands down is the best American middle distance athlete heading into Paris; what makes him dangerous is his consistency is unmatched. Very impressed by the youngin Adam for keeping pace as well.

What is truly mind blowing about Hobbs is that he has also climbed 5.14c. For folks who know both running and climbing his combined abilities are truly off the charts. I am pretty sure there has never been anyone within miles (sorry) of him in this regard. Exceptional athlete.

Can't believe I'm about to write this, but given the talent on display in this event, I'm not even sure Jakob is certain to get a medal in Paris nevermind Gold. On paper he's the quickest in the 1500m, but there's so many names on the list that could have a great year at this point. (The elephant in the room being Katir is now gone)

for those who don't know, he was suspended by the Athletics Integrity Unit after his third whereabouts strike on doping tests. He supposedly hasn't been evading or failing any doping tests, but he has had three strikes regarding out-of-competition testing in logging his whereabouts.

Show me the field where 124 🐐 are grazing and you are showing me a great generation. If one is in the age range of the runners you just spoke of Nostradamus? From the slowest to the fastest they can tell any of us that came before them they are the greatest generation of runners to date. I cannot contain my envy. What a great time to be alive. Nostradamus thank you. We asked for greatness but we would never have known what true greatness is with out you. To the generation behind this GOAT herd put 500 GOATS in the field when you all reach maturity. Because the GOATS in the year 2024 are going to put 200 Goats out there eating the sweetest grass. Louis Armstrong sang the song we sing in the field of dreams, "it is a wonderful world.'

Basically I need to run 1.5 miles in 10 minutes for a upcoming job this summer on a Hotshot crew ( very high intensity and specialized Wildland Firefighter crew designed to handle the most intense and difficult field tasks in the wildland firefighting world) I'm a fantastic hiker but running has always been a weak point. Any training tips or workouts you guys might have to quickly improve stamina and running ability would be hugely appreciated. Thanks to anyone who helps

Ingebrigtsen, Kerr and Wightman have to be the favorites coming into the olympics, but there are so many more great athletes to consider. First and foremost Nuguse, but also some "outsiders" like Kessler or the other guys in this video, or Cole Hocker. The depth of talent right now is incredible, but even so, I don't think the WR is gonna fall at the olympics.

No difference. It's just the name of the race. They often name races in honour of certain people that have died. The "Wanamaker Mile" is named after someone called Rodman Wanamaker. The "Bowerman Mile" is named after Bill Bowerman.
