After the extraordinary event on the railway, Ilija adopted Sima. Ten years passed quickly. Sima graduated from the Railway Technical High School. Before graduating, Ilija gives him a new white shirt. Sima would like to hug him but hey! Ilija refuses to hug and kiss men because it is against the rules his father taught him a long time ago. Sima is happy and would like to study to become a train driver. Ilija still holds firmly to his attitude that while he is alive, Sima will not be a train driver because he does not want him to have to carry on his soul people he will whether he wants it or not hit on the railroad one day. He sends him to Pirot to work as a railway dispatcher.
