Sorry for the stress getting hacked brings. I'm afraid Meta is an absolute nightmare to deal with when you're locked out of your account. They really don't want a human to interact with you to resolve problems. Best wishes on getting that sorted out!

Hopefully you'll be able to get it back - I've a few friends whose accounts have been hacked and taken over by spammers/fraudsters for the ready-made following, so bloomin'' annoying. If you've not already done so, change passwords and put MFA on EVERYTHING. Fingers crossed for you both!

Sorry to hear this, I think maybe keeping your social media simple might be easier & safer. I've always hated Facebook & will never have an account, had Twitter to get me through the covid year/s but kicked it into touch when the Musk took over. Just KZread for me, quite enough for anyone & plenty of time to do real life without being plastered all over the Internet that way. Good luck sorting it out whatever you decide to do.

So many scams around lately and getting even more sophisticated nowadays.They do it professionally from abroad with less legal protection.Experienced it recently too.Feels like a real violation too.

What a nightmare. Don’t forget to change passwords for the email accounts tgat connect to your social media as that’s often where it stems from so I was told. It’s a nightmare. Best wishes.

Make sure they haven't added any backup or recovery email accounts to your accounts - these are used as an alternative place to send password recoveries to etc, so even you reset your password, they can just reset it again all the while the backup email address is still linked to your account. Good luck!

Really sorry this has happened to you Joe, I'm very wary of platforms like Instagram and their ilk. KZread and WhatsApp are the only ones I use. The only advice i can give you if you can recover your accounts is to protect them with strong passwords and 2 factor authorisation if that option is available to you. Working through a VPN can offer some protection as well. A complete bummer for you mate and I hope you can recover the accounts.

Seen the post on insta and replied accordingly to whoever it was... Can I just say it'd be great to use your platform to advise everyone of the importance of 2 factor authentication. Not unhackable but certainly helps in the fight against the G wagon promoters.
