We Used the MOST EXPENSIVE Sherwin Williams Interior Paint!

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Hey Gang! Wow it feels like we've been making some serious progress lately, and we don't plan on slowing down!
In this video we take our time and get the drywall dialed in as much as possible before our primer coat. We used PVA by Sherwin Williams, and it laid down beautifully. Smooth and great coverage. Followed up with a quick sand from our budget friendly sander, and 2 coats of Emerald from SW. Again, couldn't be more pleased with these Sherwin Williams products. Cameras do not do this paint job justice! Place is looking absolute incredible!

Sherwin Williams makes the best paint on the market today. I was told by a professional painter to look for a high percentage of aluminum dioxide in the paint. That is why Sherwin Williams paint are more expensive, but it is worth it.

Paul and the crew are great ❤ I just upgraded my panel from 100amp to 200amp service and had to go through a new transformer and the engineering process ( 2 months) with Consumers Energy here in Essexville, Michigan. It took around a month for my electrical contractor, Escon corp, to get the job scheduled, and it was done in about 5 hours from start to finish, including the inspection from the Township. I was lucky because the new transformer didn't cost anything extra 😊.

One of my favorite things about a build is how it starts off everything is oppressively bright in full sun all day, then you build up walls and there’s some shade and then a roof and it’s suddenly very dim, but as you add the drywall and the paint the whole space brightens up. 😊

When you are sanding, mark the spots with a pencil so you know where you need to come back and mud. Much easier to see the spots. I had a guy use a pen to mark them. The problem is that it bleads through the paint. The pencil makes covering with paint easy.

So glad you’re using PVA sealer. A great and inexpensive way to seal drywall. None of that primer and paint in one crap. Seriously still have to do all my trim and blocking up the outside, and cut out kitchen sink and hooking it up! But I did move in on April fools, No joke! I went with all white and my trim will be dark brown so it will definately make the sherwin Willams white Satin pop! Have enjoyed watching your videos in between working on tiny house , and on those days I felt sluggish ,I watch your videos and it always seem to motivate and inspire me , not to mention when I pull up your videos on whatever I would be doing next and got all of those tips! Thank you guys and keep up the good work. Tomarrow I gotta cut out the Wood countertop for the kitchen sink It is giving me a fit today I had to start over with laying it out, found a mistake before I cut it , it may have worked but when it cost $510 and is 1 of a kind I get alittle nervous ! LOL! I was alittle close to the front cabinet edge and so I moved it in quarter of an inch. I watched your cabinet install video and it helped allot! So THANKS AGAIN! SEE YOU ON THE NEXT VIDEO!!

Paul, add this to your finishing armament...3M 2.5 in. x 4.5 in. x 1 in. 120 Fine Grit Pro Grade Angled Drywall Sanding Sponge. This is the green/aqua sanding sponge found at HD. Eliminates the hassles in the two way or three way corners. Found this out from Vancouver Carpenter channel. He is an absolute master teacher for drywall finishing and error corrections, or "how do I possibly fix THAT??". Also happens to be a pretty good skateboarder to boot. The sponges aren't really cheap, but they last and really save time and frustration in the corners. Great job by all you guys 👍👍👍.

Regarding the corner with the tear. A friend of mine who is a builder by trade said that any everything in a wooden house is bound to move and set once you move in and start using it. So cracks and tears are bound to occur around trim and in corners. He even went as far as to say that if you can wait don't put up the trim until 6-12 months after you have moved in.

I stopped buying paint at the big box stores and only buy at paint shops where they have solid people working there and sell the best products. I’ve found that even name brand to name brand, stay away from buying paint at the big box stores. Besides, dealing with local paint stores helps a local business person. Nice work guys!

Waiting to paint the stairwell is a great idea. I do something similar on bathrooms. I always get some thinset on the walls. If it's not painted, it's bad to wipe off because it messes with the mud, but if I've painted it then I'm getting thinset residue on the paint. So I prime and paint one coat, then come back after tile and paint the final coat.
