Ghibli is indeed pronounced with the soft G (or J) sound here in Japan. It's written as ジブリ in Japanese, which is read as "jiburi."

My Neighbor Garfieldoro is the best looking of them all, but I appreciate all the mash-ups! These genre/style mixes are always so entertaining to watch!

I enjoy your videos for the art but the little baby has just been so precious. My daughter just passed 1 year and it has made me very nostalgic for those early months.

I think it's pretty cool you can bring your baby to Insert Art. I think it's one of the very few shows where some of the hosts have their infants there. Very cool. :) Great work too, guys.... nice artwork. :)

Awww Totoro, I guessed within seconds. So cute.

I've only watched one of these anime, but I managed to guess all of them correctly. So clearly you guys crushed it! No surprise there.

Omgoodness the baby coos are so sweet and these art mashups really were amazing.

I don't care what it is, I NEED more anime related videos in the future. Old 80s and 90s anime, early 2000s anime, modern anime, doesn't matter, this was great. There are tons of unique styles out there and I feel like there's so much more potential. Maybe something like a style-swap, so instead of just Garfield in the style of Totoro, we also get Totoro in the style of Garfield. Either way, I'm excited for whatever comes next.

At fisrt I thought you were doing garfield as Snorlax from Pokemon (with the line work) but the face gave it away 😊 Love studio Ghibli! An episode of you drawing Ghibli characters would be great, but it would be fun taking the characters and drawing them in your own styles! That would be amazing and showcase more of your styles as well. Kat I sympathize with the shaky hands, though for me it is a neurological condition but I love what you said: that we work with what we have. So inspiring and amazing results! Loved all the drawings and couldn't pick a favorite one because they are all good, but for different reasons. Love this!

I knew that Garfield was Luna before the moon was even drawn - she really nailed the shape of Luna's face. And I loved the Studio Ghibli version. Totoro is such a lovable and iconic character! I would love to see more mash ups of characters drawn in Studio Ghibli style!

In case you didn't know, the reason Patreon members are called Patrons is because in the olden days of classical artists like Da Vinci, Rembrandt, Turner, etc (also musicians like Bach or Beethoven, and even writers like Shakespeare) the way they could afford to spend their time making art was via Patronage, i.e. being fully funded by the wealthy families who wanted their homes decorated by the finest art of their time. These patrons are what made so much of our most well known art possible, and Patreon has those same principles behind their ethos, but on a global scale, and also with consideration of the smaller budget of each individual donor.

I don't know references after the 80s, so that first one was making me think of pooh bear with a pot of honey.

I grew up about 30 minutes south of Fairmount, Jim Davis' hometown. So I approve of any and all Garfield content.

If you read the Katakana for Studio Ghibli, and listen to how Miyazaki himself pronounces it, it's Ji-bu-ri, or Jee-blee in English. I think the hard "g" sound comes from Maserati Ghibli, and people thought that's how it was pronounced (although, that's just my guess on where the hard "g" comes from).

Interesting, but they don’t look like Garfield. The secret to drawing Garfield is the eyes. Just copy the attached eyes with the half lids and all else can be different. Hope this helps. 😊

Loved this. I loved garfield as a kid and used to draw him lots. I've not really done anything drawing wise for years unfortunately as the wrist i broke as a kid makes holding a pen difficult, though i manage miniatures painting in short bursts, must just be a different enough grip that it doesn't hurt the wrist as much. This said, your videos (and jazzas) have inspired me to try again when time permits. Keep up the great videos.

The second to last one I thought was zootopia but you got the others spot on with the theming

Did a quick search, and it's in fact pronounced Studio Jibli. The Japanese uses the "Ji" character instead of the "Gi" character.

The Studio Gibli version I had guessed right off the bat as soon as the initial design was laid out. Such an iconic look from one of the greats!

This was so fun, I can’t even pick a fav! The Sailor Moon one just got me right in the nostalgia though lol. What makes it even better is that the screen cap you used is actually from the Sailor Moon S movie, where Luna is being picked up by the human guy she has a crush on. Extra layers of hilarity! 😂

For the Beastars one, it’s a really good piece the pose is awesome. The thing is Garfield has that flat Persian cat face, if you would have leaned more into that it would have read as Garfield. Otherwise, love your content as usual!

I'm gonna be honest, I've never asked a creator to do this before, but I think Insert Art should upload a lot less. Uploading 2 or 3 videos per week is quite a lot, even if the people working on the videos change and rotate around. Sometimes the artists don't seem to have had enough time to complete works that they're proud of producing, and honestly, I watch EVERY single video Insert Art puts out and I feel that you guys are focusing too much on trying to output content when it's ok to take breaks and upload like once a week, cause I'll still be watching every video.

Ghibli can be pronounced any way. They pronounce it with the j sound in Japan but the studio has said on numerous occasions that any way of pronouncing it is fine i find saying it Gah-ibli more fluid personally

John in original line art kind of looks like Fall Out boy.

Recognised Totoro within seconds just on the blue line work :) Felt like I should know the second, but had no clue until the reveal :( I guessed beastars at the beginning of the third, but wasn't too sure until Odie's char when she said Bunny :) As soon as i saw the half circle crescent on his forehead i knew it was Sailor Moon :) Loved watching this one, thanks for a wonderful video :)

*(D&D Request Repeat X2)* Can you create a D&D character from 'Bengal, India' ? (it would be really fun to have a d&d character from here and we've got tigers). So here goes the back Story : .. A Prosperous Kingdom with a Good King. The kingdom is kind of conservative, doesn't allow outsiders to fully get involved. The Capital city has a temple at the centre, there's a jewel (crystal maybe) in that temple, and it's very important. Invaders come - too strong to invade so fall back - sends other party as merchants - The prince of the kingdom falls in love with a merchant girl from noble family - lovey-dovey things go on, eventually Prince shows the girl the crystal - girl figures out a secret passage - steals the crystal - invaders are now able to defeat the kingdom, so they defeat it and destroy everything and loot their bounty - prince lives - he is now on a revenge mission.
