I identify as a Newfie, I was born in Newfoundland Canada. These dogs are amazing water rescue dogs and have a natural instinct to protect people from danger. My mother had one of these dogs when she grew up in Newfoundland and her Newfie dog would put himself in between her and the high cliffs of the 'Battery' where she grew up to keep her safe. Also her Newfie wouldn't let her get too close to any water such as ponds, lakes, and of course the ocean. Such gentle, beautiful, and noble dogs, truly humankinds best friend.

I have watched this video about four times consecutively. What an incredibly wonderful feeling to see a dog being totally in his element! The countryside, the falling snow, a brother and a sister to play with, a family of humans, Everest is so at home. It seemed like he was laying on the curb waiting for HFP folks to take him home in Oregon. He is so calm (in the plane too!), so approachable until you see him dart back and forth in the snow. We'll never know what had happened to Everest before HFP came to his rescue, but after that moment it was like magic, everything fell into a bright and cozy place. For Everest.

This is the most perfect rescue ever. He was not a dog suitable for California but thanks to Hope for Paws from the perfect home in suitable surroundings and climate. He looked so depressed in the bath but once he arrived at his new home he was in his element. Loved the way he pranced through the airport - obviously he knew good times were a'comin'. And now he's in the right place in the snow and cold where a dog like him should be. Look how happy he is in the snow. So beautiful.

The sad truth is so many people get Newfoundlands and other large/giant breed canines when they are puppies. They are so cute, fluffy and irresistible. Then they grow and fast. The owners are not prepared or educated on what it takes to be a caretaker to these canines. Lack of education, money (vet bills, food and treats, supplies & grooming etc.), proper living conditions and even family separation can cause these animals to become homeless, sheltered or in an animal rescue/foster care. It is heartbreaking to see some of the animals we have rescued and what they endured. I raised and rescued Newfoundlands for 14 years. They are one of the most amazing creatures on this earth. Truly a blessing. Thank you for helping this Newfy. Bless You

For all those whining about how H4P scammed the airline to get Everest on board. The Medical Center that he will be going to with his new brother Clyde to give comfort, is in need of therapy dogs. I am sure a letter from them along with vet letters gave them permission to get him on board with a seat of his own, that H4P paid for. there are only some dogs who qualify for such training programs. Everest's new home is actually a training home for therapy dogs. Plus he is too big to go into the cargo hold on a small plane. So please stop the negativity and just enjoy the fact that a most beautiful dumped dog is now on his way to helping your children should they ever end up at Capital Medical Center in Oregon. It is something to celebrate, people!

as an owener of two newfies, and an absolute newfie fanatic, I have some facts for yall! newfoundlands are water rescue dogs. they have webbed paws, and they secrete an oil from their skin that waterproofs their coats! they are also built to withstand very cold temperatures, and so are primed to live in snowy regions, such as Oregon! newfies are incredibly tempermental, and have a natural instinct to protect. especially children, making them wonderful family pets, and also makes them the perfect candidates for support and sevice dogs! and in my opinion, theyre just the best dogs ever.

I'd like to add that a small pet peeve of mine is the mispronunciation of the name Newfoundland. Eldad mispronounced it as most people do. Being born and having lived in Newfoundland for 53 years, I should know the correct way to say the word :) It's definitely not NEW fin lind with the emphasis on NEW It's more like New fa LAND with the emphasis on LAND. Rhyme it with "understand".

Every breed has a rescue organization for their breed so, if you really want to adopt, these organizations are very careful and knowledgeable and, after a thorough review of your application will match you up with a rescued Newfie. They normally charge nothing for their services so, if and when you are ready to give a loving home to a rescue, contact them. Thank you very much! I'm really glad you like it! A few months ago KZread decided not to notify most of my subscribers about new videos nor recommend them to new people. I don't know why. I've been lacking audience a lot lately! Well, you visited us and it matters a lot! Thank you again!

Carriers in my country would never allow a dog on a flight unless it was a guide dog, even for a short trip. Good to see a decent carrier that does.

He is so beautiful and so happy at his new home. He is made for those Oregon's winters. Thank you for saving him and transporting him to his new home.

thats so kind of Eldad and loretta to take Everest home safely, some rescues put the dogs in the crate and send them off for adoption, these two are great Pet Parents for sure !

it's amazing how dogs get so activated when you put them in their natural environment. it was like Everest was in a coma until you landed in Redmond and he felt the cold air and saw the snow. did you guys find his friend?
