I use it for dark souls/bloodborne so i can rotate the camera and sprint/roll without having to clawgrip.

Yeah I bought a pair of pro PS4 controllers for $200, they broke within 6 months. I think the new add on will be a more durable solution than those modded controllers.

Just saw the comments. Lol it’s me. First off - I was holding the controller that way for the camera and for death stranding. I was trying to demonstrate how the triggers weren’t needed for efficient movement in that game. - very fair point about FPS. We actually had no FPS installed on the PS4 which is new, and we play on PC for that, so I couldn’t test it for the camera in time.

I appreciate the review. It's better than everyone who just opens a box and don't tell you how it feels when you play. I just watched 3 other videos and no one talk about how it felt playing with it. I do agree with others on testing it out a FPS game, but I see that if it worked great on other games I don't doubt it will be great for FPS.

I mean the point of a programmable set of buttons is so you can play more comfortably/competitive so hes technically doing it right......but yeah i thought the same thing triggers are fine but in my opinion if its just 2 buttons im just programming them to circle and x on ps controller for better mobility in a gunfight

@@cvillagrow9024 Yeah, I'm sure there are people who will benefit from mapping the primary shoulder buttons and holding the controller that way. But he sure looked like he was just confused, which is exactly what I'd expect from a WaPo tech video, tbh.

I picked one up today after work and although it 𝘸𝘢𝘴 a bit difficult to install, it works great and is surprisingly easy to get used to.

These are made with the competitive fps scene in mind, the fact that games like Cod, Siege or Overwatch wasn't tested with this it's a huge mistake

It won't trust me. These triggers are very specifically for mainly fps games where you ideally can't remove your thumbs from the thumbsticks. Other games will not really need his because the use is so oddly specific. The most other use you may see for this is actually Action MMOs for quicker skill presses but there's only handful of those titles on PS4. And most MMOs plays on a skill rotation so in those cases using a third party controller or adaptor that accepts macros is more often recommended.

Sony could of made this less bulky by just making an app on the PS4 to program the buttons so there would be no need for the screen just a simple profile switch.

it works really well just bought one and it feels great never used scuff so im not sure where it compares but its good for the price

I still use the claw method but I also use the back buttons too so I call it the kraken method

This is just Habitual Sony introduction. PSOne's controller came without joysticks, then when the PS2 almost came out they introduced joysticks, ps2 came out without a rumble feature then when the ps3 almost was out rumble controller was added. So its fair to say that ps5 controllers will include back paddles.

Solid as expected, It's more of a FPS kind of thing but horizon jump shooting was close enough of a test

It's really helpful for R6S players

Xbox elite series has grips, trigger stops, 2 extra back buttons, better d pad, organismic design, and sensitivity options. All for only 150-180 while scuf requires 200+... it’s a budget “elite series” controller option but no where near as good as elite series controllers

Definitely didn't do enough in depth testing with the product. Should of shown use on a wider variety of games like an Apex, Need For Speed, Sekiro, plus what was shown.

All these comments asking "who holds a controller like that", im assuming you mean with the right pointer finger up on the X button? I hold the controller like that almost by default now from playing literal thousands of hours of Red Dead Redemption 2. You need to constantly tap X to keep your horse or character at a sprint and be able to view 360° around especially when hunting animals, and that's the only way it really works. I'm currently replaying witcher 3 and find myself constantly doing the same whenever riding Roach. I plan to pickup one of these back button attachments tomorrow and program them for X to see if it helps, because it genuinely does begin to make your hand sore holding it the way he showed for anything longer than a couple minutes at a time

Should have tried cod out! I have a scuf, but this is a cheaper alternative that will come in handy too

Ever since I started using the the back attachment I've been having sound delay coming from my soundbar I take the attachment off everything is fine WTF

You guys should have tried it with Apex I think those are the type games it is mean for.
