We have labor regulations in the US as well as minimum wage; both make manufacturing more expensive for companies. They outsource to China because these things don't exist there which allows companies to exploit the people working in Chinese factories. Do you think African lithium mines are worse than US labor conditions? If not you need to take some time to read about how your phone got from materials in the ground to being in your hand

so i don't think it was made in china just because there was chinese writing in the background of a picture of the product. i suspect the chinese writing, which says "single medical use" on it was on a packet of what was probably disposable face masks, a lot which are made in china. the seller probably has a bunch of "covid supplies" in that car door pocket, which the face masks would be a part of along with the sanitiser etc. kinda disappointed at the immediate conclusions Donut jumped to.

Toyotas and Hondas are literally some of the most reliable and cheap-to-fix cars you can buy. Calling them overrated is just insane lol

We used to love Etsy. It used to be a place to get unique products, handmade from small businesses. It's since flooded with cheap chinese knockoffs like Temu and Wish-style stuff. We had a store for our LLC suspended for no reason and Etsy would not provide a reason. I am obviously subjective in this, but have soured on Etsy quite a bit. And yes people, this is a re-upload of the video from this morning.

Yup. Etsy went to garbage like 5 or so years ago. They stopped verifying shops and it quickly filled up with drop shippers who were pedaling the same cheap chinese goods that are on wish. If you list your goods on etsy, chances are it'll be copied within a few months. It's crazy how quickly etsy went to crap.

@@StageRight123 I have a confession… I’m also one of those people lol I found a cheap one a few years back and wanted an AWD car… now I have that one and a 2020 Legacy that I bought new and my next one will almost certainly be a Subaru as well. Sure they’re not the most reliable and are a pain in the ass to do anything but change the oil but they’re nice to drive and super fun in snow… I actually pulled a couple cars out of the ditch last week lol From my experience they’re fantastic cars to own to 80k-100k miles lol

I also have a 3rd gen, bought it used, and it came with what I think is a Tacoma Lifestyle skinny can holder, but it could be made by someone else, not sure. Perfect fit for a 12oz red bull can. I have driven a ton of these from my previous job and I could not figure out what that square spot was for, always put keys and my airpods there.

@@narancs5 I wouldn't use it when driving my vehicle most of the time, but the use case for me is when I'm dashing on the rare occasion that I have more than one or two drinks to deliver with an order. So for me, in that particular case, because I only have a single cup holder in my car, it makes more sense than just a drink carrier sitting on my seat and will probably prevent spills.

I keep ChapStick in my car all winter long and have to keep it in the ashtray. This car was a hand-me-down through the family so the ashtray was never used for cigarettes but having a little spot for it would definitely be awesome for cars that don't otherwise have a convienent spot that you don't have to use your eyes to find. Anything that I can reach for, and not look at is a plus in my opinion.

"That's really thoughtful, but it's trashing my vibe right now" - best way to tell a friend, "nah that shit is trash." lmao

For future reference. If you shine a UV light onto anything that should glow in the dark it will "charge" up the glowing so you can see it really easy.

Enjoyed the detailed review of Etsy car products! It's great to see someone taking the time to test each one for practicality and aesthetics. The rubber duck valve stems were hilarious.

Would love to see a video going over the personal cars of the donut crew, perhaps even a series with an episode per crew member, talking through their cars, why they chose them and the decisions behind any mods.

What would be interesting to know is what material is used for the 3D printed parts? The most common Material for 3D printing nowadays is PLA which unfortunately isn't very heat nor UV resistant, meaning that it wouldn't be so suitable for the steeringwheel hook at the end, since part of it would get a lot of direct sunlight and thus probably warp and become brittle with time. It should be made in something like PETG for example.

I work with ABS/ASA because it lasts basically forever, but yeah a lot of stores will use PLA as it's easy to print. 3D printers are a tool, not a factory, but hustler-types treat them as a factory and that's where bad quality products come from.

PLA+ is comparable to PETG but as easy to print as PLA, in fact in my country you can't even buy regular PLA only PLA+ so that's all I use and I honestly wouldn't want any printed product which is only PLA unless it's decorative and Silk PLA or something

Pretty sure those people are smart enough to use PETG or other temperature resistant materials. It's not as if PETG is heaps more expensive than PLA for this kind of stuff.

Honestly a Chapstick holder is so simple but brilliant. In Michigan you are either in the hot humid summer or freezing cold winter. I have 3 Chapstick's depending on where I am at. I have 1 I keep at work, home, and in my truck. The one in my truck I put in my middle counsel so it doesn't melt from the sun or freeze in the winter and always have to dig to find it.

I started to notice this a while ago and don't watch their content very much anymore because of it, just Real Mechanic Stuff. Checked out this video and felt the issue was still there. I'm glad that I'm not the only person who's noticed this as (fittingly) it's been killing my vibe.

Those aftermarket tire valve stem caps are bad news if they are made from aluminum. They get stuck on with corrosion after about six months and are a pain in the butt to get them back off.

Love these videos. You don’t take this stuff too seriously and see the funny side of stuff. These are definitely ‘from Grandma’ gifts. Over here in the UK that crochet cover would get you into trouble, especially with the annual MOT. For those who don’t know it’s a very strict yearly safety check required by law.

They could talk about the laws in various states about how dark your windows are allowed to be. In NC, your windows can't be too dark if you're in a car or hatchback, but if it's a truck/SUV, there is no limit. Doesn't make sense.

My Chapstick/lip balm holder is the bottom half of an empty 25-count Slim Jim box I store in my center console. Keeping it company are a few pens, a small Post-It/stick notepad, nail clippers, emery board (Oh, my eyebrows ain't plucked; there's a gun in my truck), and other small items I don't want rattling around needlessly. Improvise, adapt, overcome. (The U.S. Marines would've eaten me alive, but I love this mantra and use it all the time.)

5:23 if the holder is made out of PLA there is a possibility of the holder warping due to the summer heat.

Love the review videos, I have a suggestion for a future one however, I do a lot of off road competitions and fire extinguishers are a must have, I have personally used plenty of dry chem ABC models but I feel as thought it would be entertaining and informative if you guys went through some of the other options suck as Element extinguishers, purple K extinguishers and CO2 models, we all put a lot of money into our rigs and cars and to be able to protect them and save people when the worst happens is really important to a lot of us! Thanks!!
