Definitely needs a full 2.5in or a 3in exhaust to let the car breathe a bit more. Might sound a bit louder at idle too

I love that it's a 2023 but they didnt go over the top with the styling. Its clean and simplistic.

That actually sounded better than I expected...good start! Now save up for a proper catback system & a pair of RHFCs!

Definitely sounds better than stock, props to the driver for getting the 6MT as well

The twin turbos really help the sound of the six cylinder engine. Not as raspy.

Way better than I expected. I actually like it. A little bit of bite but not so much to attract the wrong type of attention. Black on black too, exactly how I buy them. All the best with it and post updates as you mod please.

No it doesn't. There's a reason it comes from factory with the size it does and keeping it that size but removing the mufflers and up-ing the axle back size is what makes the car sound as good as it does. If you think it sounds good on camera it sounds 100 times better in person.

I actually haven’t heard this thing yet and I’ve got to say I’m disappointed in the stock exhaust, but once you guys did your magic it actually sounds really good

Just lookup any vid of the q50 or 60 3.0t with turboback exhausts. Same setup.

I have a 370Z with a 2.5" pipe straight through into an X-pipe with a couple of resonators in each bank. There is also a long tube cold air intake and a dyno tune that brought my rwhp from 282 to 321 and a uniform 16% increase in torque across the rev range. It sounds good and has made a significant improvement in the performance.

As long as you keep resonated downpipes on these, theyll sound fine with a full turboback. Will sound god awful with no resonators between the downpipe and midpipe though. A set of lower downs and an axleback sounds great on these

Of course you can. The vr30ddtt sounds like a GTR with the v6 rumble with a borla exhaust and full downpipes. Every other exhaust sounds shit.

Personally I don't think the audio and the video does it justice with the set-up you got right now sounds awesome person especially going down the road and letting the car rev as you go through the gears

How far can you “flange” that 1 and quarter? To try and get a larger diameter pipe?

Man this makes me think of my 370z with 3" pipe muffler delete and how it sounded beautiful. Miss that car but happy with its replacement. The 400z looks amazing with a lot of the classic 240z styling but they needed to do more to the interior which is why I ended up passing on the 400.

Technically it's not a 400z since the number in the model refers to the displacement (240z is a 2.4 L24, 260z is a 2.6 L26, 280z+zx are a 2.8 L28, 300zx are 3.0 VG30 etc etc) so it's really a 300z.

how long would a straightpipe cost, no aftermarket exhaust just from an exhaust shop, and what is a normal price people pay for that

TBH, 3” from turbo back would sound 100x better, but with all the air out, you need air in, so of course run a cold air intake, toss a tune to support mods and send it.

I’m wondering, would an xpipe type design be beneficial to a turbo car? H and X type exhausts is meant to scavenge exhaust pulse on 2 bank engines. I would think turbos would need a free flowing exhaust.

A turbo car like this needs nothing besides a good flowing size of pipe. I'd bet a dual 2.75-3" system with small resonators would be perfect. A crossover pipe doesn't benefit these modern V6 engines in any way as they are even firing, ie; LRLRLR, not like a crossplane V8 as you're thinking of.

I think you can get it with blue, white, black, silver, and gray exterior. Yellow, maroon, and red I don't think you can get the blue interior.

The first one on the channel. Sounds great! But! Needs a bigger pipe to be deeper sounding.

tbh it might just be me but that engine does not rev very fast just looking at it on the gauges and hearing it. Prob would benefit from high performance light flywheel

@@dougn6465 the whole point of turbos is to utilize exhaust gases to spoil the turbine. Explain to me how that would reduce torque when increasing the cross sectional area of piping for exhaust gases.

Almost the same exhaust as the 370. Restrictive 1.75 pipes like mine had. I put a 2.5 inch dual system with an x pipe and gained 20hp before I got it dyno tuned. So much potential with this car to really wake it up, but too much money for the little bit of power gain stock over the 370. I hate seeing these cars called 400Z. Thankfully Nissan dumped the number or this one would actually be a modern 300Z...
