Who are Kara and Nate?!
Watch our documentary here: • 100th COUNTRY DOCUMENTARY
Originally from Nashville, Tennessee, we got married 2013 and were super “normal.” I was a teacher and Nate started a small printing business from the spare bedroom of our apartment.
We discovered the world of “travel hacking” while planning our honeymoon & became addicted ;)
So after 2 years of obsessively saving $35k and over 2 million miles and points, we sold our cars and apartment and left home January 10, 2016 for a “one year” trip around the world.
Our goal was to see as many places as possible before we ran out of money and went back home to “normal life.” We started this channel to share our experiences with friends and family, but quickly fell in love with living on the road and found a new passion for capturing our travels through video. So we did everything we could to keep going.
4 years later, we achieved our new goal of visiting 100 countries and all 7 continents. We had no plans to slow down, until 2020 forced us to ;) Which is when we bought a converted van to start exploring our own country for the first time!
After ~2 years of van life, we are back to full time international traveling! And now we are finding the best adventures the world has to offer :)
We are incredibly grateful to be able to continue doing something we love every day. 😊🎥🌎 Thank you to everyone who has been a part of our journey!

One of the things I like most about this channel is watching how Kara and Nate went from stretching pennies in the beginning and through hard work and creative direction succeeded and earned the ability to enjoy the more finer luxuries. All the while, they continue to maintain the same humility and appreciation as with everything else they get to enjoy, never once flaunting their success or allowing it to redefine them and the original roots of their travel channel. They never fail to mention that every experience and every luxury they get to enjoy is a privilege gifted to them by their loyal fan base (whom they share their joy and experience with in the videos) along with their intuition in capitalizing on travel points, which they teach others how to do. They’ve never lost touch with the ground and continue to test their personal limits through some of the most challenging and craziest adventures, making them one of the most exciting and down to earth people to follow.

I was literally showing my husband this video and trying to explain how awesome they are and where they’ve come from and how grateful they always are and how sometimes when I read comments from new people that think they’re bragging or detached from normality I get upset for them because those people don’t see their dedication and hard work that has built up over so many years. And then here’s your comment right at the top!! Thank you for that. I also think if you’re filming all these experiences then they don’t become vacations anymore they become work and that’s tiring. Thank you for explaining everything so well! I hope they see your comment.

I love the tradition of Nate making Kara coffee in the morning and he always always always tells her her coffee is ready with a kiss. It's so sweet and I hope they do that until their dying day. It's the simplest, sweetest gesture that goes so much farther than fancy gifts or expensive stays. I love love love it. And, for the record, this particular stay had me glued to the screen....it's so immersive! What a wonderful experience!

The crack and popping you heard while underwater were pistol shrimp. We heard the same noise while living in our sailboat for two years. They are truly one of the most interesting and coolest creatures out there. They have one large claw that they use to snap which creates a bubble that shoots at its prey at the speed of a bullet and reaches temperatures almost as hot as the surface of the sun. 🤯 20:41

Sorry but that underwater Hotel is NOT the world's first. It is probably the world's first "luxury" underwater hotel though. The Jules Undersea Lodge in FL was opened in 1986, the Maldives underwater Hotel opened in 2005. Underwater Hotels 1: Utter Inn, Vasteras Sweden (the only one in a lake!) 2: Resorts World Sentosa Ocean Suites, Singapore (inside a gigantic aquarium) 3: Jules Undersea Lodge, Key Largo FL. It was originally an underwater research laboratory(you have to Scuba dive down to get into it, and all your food orders are delivered by a Scuba diver!) 4: Atlantis the Palm, Dubai UAE (also inside a gigantic aquarium) 5: Conrad Maldives Rangali Island, Rangali Maldives 6: The Manta Resort, Zanzibar Tanzania 7: ReefSuites, Airlie Beach Australia 8: Intercontinental Shanghai Wonderland, Shanghai China AND THE MOST OUTRAGEOUS ONE 9: THE LOVERS DEEP. It's an ACTUAL SUBMARINE HOTEL!! It goes 650 ft underwater and can be moored off the coast of St Lucia or by a sunken Battleship in the Red Sea!

I used to love Kara and Nate along with "the Endless Adventure", Eamon and Bec", and "The Way Away" (when they were still together)...however, sometime after the 100 countries landmark video, my interest starting to fade...Everything started to feel more "scripted", less spontaneous, too much glitz... similar to "Lost LeBlanc"...I typically watch travel vloggers to inspire me to keep on traveling. Sadly, Kara and Nate do not inspire me as I can no longer relate to them.. Everything is so perfect , pricey, perfect, scripted... it is obvious that this has turned from a hobby into a business. While I congratulate them for their success, I am no longer inspired. I will stick to Alisson and Eric.. so cute and down-to-earth.. Thank you for the 100 countries..!!

For the life of me, I can’t understand what the attraction is here. Humblebrag. Humblebrag. HUMBLEBRAG. I happen to also make my wife coffee every morning and tell her I love her. Thing is…. I don’t need to “look good” for the rest of the world. All these “fans” realize they are funding these two’s lifestyle, right? Not very charming in my opinion. Done.

There's something off about the way this episode was edited. It feels like there are more jump cuts and time skips in this episode, whereas in other episodes there's more time to "be in a space" with you guys. Overall the narrative and tour does not feel as cohesive and naturally paced as your usual episodes.

If feels like a series of shorts stitched together instead of the usual cohesive adventure. I felt like I was experiencing this journey through the lens of someone with ADHD. Definitely a different editing style.

When Kara says this is where you can sit and watch the island where everyone else has to stay I felt slightly offended for a split second then immediately remembered who I was watching. ❤😂 No explanation needed but then it cuts to Nate saying that was a joke which made it even more wholesome. Love love love you guys and how much you’ve accomplished in the last 8? years.

Originally, we started watching y'all because y'all were broke and you showed us where we could go on a budget.... but lately, more often than not, you're showing places that are pretty much unattainable for the average person. We could swing the cave hotel, but some of the other places y'all have done, yes, it's fun to watch, but can the average person go? No.

They literally show budget places and flights in their other channel. As well as in the daily newsletter lol. And these videos are still helpful and nice to watch. Because while you may not be able to go to ALL of the luxurious places they show you may be able to go to 1 or 2 of them.

FYI, This is not the first undersea hotel. Jules Undersea Lodge, Key Largo, Florida, started operation in 1986, which was 32 years before the Muraka was opened in 2018. The Muraka is 16 feet below the surface and Jules Underwater Lodge is 30 feet below the surface.

That underwater villa looked amazing. Also, there are usually about 400-500 nuclear subs in the oceans with crews of around 100. So maybe 5000 people were sleeping underwater that night. Although, I don't think they had a vue from the crapper like you guys did. Love your videos!
