@@user-vn7ce5ig1z I think "One Million" is more clickbaity than "Five Million". It is still a huge number, and by making it a bit bigger it might actually sound smaller. One million might be a hard to reach milestone. But five million makes it sound like it isn't as hard to do.

I.... Cannot believe that this video has only gotten 22,000 views. And now the #TeamTrees fundraiser is getting so much traction to raise 20 million dollars to plant 20 million trees... Yeah, that fundraiser/initiative is amazing, and it's great that it's happening, but... You guys literally did 25% of that, to full-grown trees in the Amazon, with just a couple thousand dollars. Like... What?! I wish this video had more traction. If some of that money went to preserving existing forests instead of just planting new ones, it'd clearly have a much greater contribution. Man. Kurtis, you really are amazing and you really are undervalued. It's a shame more people don't know about this.

@okmikaelaok Yes, I know, and yes, it is to a very good cause. And the fact that it is happening is wonderful. My point is that it's disappointing that more people don't know about *this*, which is a really amazing feat and the money was put to much greater use with what Kurtis did. I'm glad that they're planting new trees, and I'm so glad that TeamTrees has gotten the attention that it has. It's just that I wish more people knew about the importance of saving existing trees, as well.

I found out about this video through Aspect Science. Instead of channeling money to offset my carbon footprint by planting trees, I decided to use the same amount of money to save trees via the Rainforest Trust project. Based on the tree density mentioned in your video, I saved more than 83k trees. Thank you for making this video.

Fantastic! Would be great if you could do this in Brazil next time, as the president is encouraging the fires there. Also consider Madagascar as there's much less work going into protecting their old growth rainforest which is much like that of the Amazon.

Although it is worth reminding people that activism should also be accompanied with a personal change of habits to get our actions in alignment, otherwise we're helping with one hand, and destroying with the other!

The burnings aren't just for mining and agriculture, but a lot of the extension that is being burned is destined for cattle breeding. When it is used... Its good that you all were able to do that - however what might be a cool idea if the subscribers could adopt a tree ?

I am now thinking this should be an initiativ to propose for all native people. Sami are the natives of Sweden and I would loce seeing them own the lands they live on. Kurtis, have you looked into doing something similar for buying land in Canada and donating it to people who will care for it properly?
