WE REBUILD THE FASTEST SUV IN THE WORLD! THE BEST SUPERTRUCK EVER MADE!
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
We are back at it at SR Auto Group and this Episode we tackle one of Raymond's absolute favorite SUV's. After watching @Donut video on the differences of the GMC Typhoon and Syclone, Raymond went out and purchased a rare white 1992 Typhoon in need of help. In this video he will show you what he did and why this vehicle was dubbed the fastest production SUV on the planet in 1992. With the help of Martin and the crew at SR, we take this vehicle from dud to stud.
Thanks for watching guys and hanging on while we make the worst produced video's but hopefully with some content that makes up for it!
See you in the comments!

Just a quick note. After reading your comments I wanted to point out a few additions we did with your help. First, I figured when I said Belltech Lowering suspension that we all understood that the Typhoon has Torsion bars in the front and leaf springs in the rear. Our car received 4 shocks and rear leaf springs. This is what was meant by a lowering kit. There are no springs on the Typhoon! Second, I was told to add a Steering Damper which I had no idea this SUV was supposed to have. I did this and the steering got a bit tighter but the play is still there. Third, I was told to add a 1994 Jeep Steering Shaft to replace the OEM RAG Joint that these trucks came with. This was already done by the previous owner. I have now changed the complete steering assembly and I am coming to realize that maybe, just maybe, this is how a 30 year old SUV drives! Keep in mind guys and gals, these videos are shot off the hip as they say, sometimes words don't come so easily. If I make a mistake, call me out, helps me learn as well! Thanks for Watching! This was my favorite to date! - Raymond
We need an Uncle Ray "Sleeper Series", Ray should pick up cheap but interesting cars, turn them into sleepers and flip em for a profit haha

It good to know that SR doesn’t just do the super car thing they do the everyday special cars too. Great content, very surprised the interior was so nice with an ashtray that size lol.
Such a legendary truck. Big investment for the future. Currently working on an all original 87 Grand National.
UNCLE RAY RAY. I wanted to Typhoon or a cyclones so bad when I was a teenager brings back good memories😎

🎬 pop's out of the barrel haa!! My favorite part !
Uncle Ray is and will always be a Legend!! I love odd cars many dont know about.
I have one of these!!!! Love it, thank you Uncle Ray, made my day just seeing this on the channel!
Love uncle Raymond’s “back in the day” phrase!! Ur the man!!
Always wanted one of these!! Such a sick truck. Got to see the Typhoon and a Syclone side by side at the Oceanside Fathers day car show years ago! Some of my favourites from that day.
2:35 “still has the typhoon in the headrest.” Where the hell do you think it’d go haha?!? 😂

Fair comment. Iol
Nice work Raymond! What an awesome project, you should hold on to it. So much nostalgia
Great that you showed the whole resto in one video. Always liked those Syclones and Typhoons. I'm sure they never drove as nice as anything Raymond is used to driving.
Ray my guy, this vid would have gone viral had you announced, started a crazy build on this truck. Like dropping in a supercharged LS with all modern everything else except the body and stuff. Dead serious this would have gained the most views to date and each update vid would gain more views and every vid from there on would be high stats.

Really great that you do content on older cars
great couple recent videos - like it when you are just being yourself, showing real stuff on real cars. great work!
Very cool content. Awesome that your not just all about insane priced high end cars. Amazing originality
Always top notch work! It’s good to see such good work put into old vehicles.
This was my "dream truck" back in the day. Unfortunately I couldn't afford it and I settled for an '88 Mitsubishi mighty max
Great commentary Mr Raymond I really felt your connection with explaining the ins and outs of the build and you getting to live out your childhood passion with all your hardwork and dedication in your company and family👍
Rare little trucks for sure and still pretty clean.
Damnnn Ray..i was expecting to have to wait at least a month for another vid haha....slick typhoon brother....those 4.3s were strong back in the day.
Love the videos Ray! Keep them coming 😁
Hell yeah love this era of fast trucks 👍🔥🔥
I always loved these as well. Great video Ray! Thanks
Nice work Raymond! I loved those trucks back in the day. I had a 1993 S-10 with just the 4.3 six cylinder. I couldn’t imagine what the turbo does or that engine! Thanks.
Love this bro!! Keep working hard and thriving
Thanks uncle ray ray. You brought me back to my childhood. I was always obsessed with this suv. Just out of curiosity. What is your asking price. On a separate note I love how you are a purist. You restore. You don’t like aftermarket carbon fiber and pep boys/autozone mods. Much respect. Come on guys let’s blow this channel up. 100k. Let’s go.
Really enjoying these keep them coming please 👊
So happy when I saw this thumbnail. I fucking love typhoons. Need to own one, one day. So fire. My boy used to have one with an upgraded turbo on it and shaved door handles. So many memories
My stepdad had a Syclone. It was one of the best and fastest trucks I've ever ridden in. He also has a 92 S15 when they put the 4.3 in them and he did a lot of upgrades and lowered it. It wasn't quite as fast but it went like a bullet too. Love the box Chevy Generation, full size and smaller S10s and S15s. But his Syclone was epic. Wish I could afford it. Would love to pull up in his driveway with that thing
Nice find and great to see it get some love.
Great video YSOB ! keep them coming !!
Gr8 work Ray... looks like a fun truck.
I always wanted a Typhoon as well. Great video, brought back memories for me!
Cool project. The turbo queef takes me back to the 90's.
Love you uncle ray ray good to see you doing another vlog love the work love what you do kerp up the great work look forward to the next
The typhoon and cyclone are definitely bucketlist vehicles
As a Syclone owner, good luck finding the stock intake tube and filter box. Your only chance is to find a used one from a part out, then you will pay a ton for it. Check the SYTY facebook pages or forums.
Great vid. Liked how it felt more like an episode and followed the same car over time and showed an awesome build.
Great video again. a complete project in one single done
Love what y’all do.
Dang dope ride
Awesome truck Ray.
Ok, so interesting cars not just supercars or hypercars. Great job, Uncle Ray Ray.
Whats up Uncle Ray Ray keep up the content can't wait to see what else comes in the channels future
Good to see you in front of the camera again sir especially a bit of nuts and bolts stuff too. Good show buddy thank you
SyTy's are a lot of fun but is the definition of jackstand queens. Miss mine and now is the time to buy bc prices have jumped up a lot the past few years. My 92 was Blk/Blk with the rare factory black GMC grill lettering bc it was low production number. Fortunately mine had perfect steering.
Super cool collector car, I've only seen one up close. I had a 91 Honda Prelude back when this Jimmy came out.
So nice 👍👍
Killin' it Uncle Ray Ray!
Keep up the good work
Awesome Typhoon Uncle Ray Ray I have a couple of hot wheels of it ! And YES its very fast !
Love these cars . Did Martin know what this was ? Lol looking forward to this refresh Ray
I like watching how Uncle Ray Ray brings everything back to factory or close to factory. I love the Typhoon's and Syclone's, they have always been untouchable for me, so I appreciate him bring one back to factory condition.

I bring back old special cars. I still love to modify new ones!
Uncle Ray, I love it. I bought a 1993 s-10 4dr 4wd with the 4.3L S-10 Blazer used back in 1999 when my girlfriend, now wife was expecting our first daughter. It had all the "bells and whistles" for a '93 and I got it from a Portland Police Detective. It was very well maintained, but over the years I needed to replace or rebuild a lot of it minus that 4.3L Vortec. I ended up giving the rig to my father after his s-10 p/u got totaled. I miss that thing to this day. I think I'll call your shop on Monday to see what You want for it. Trade for a Rolex? LOL. Love the vids and all the stuff You do with Dave and Damon.

Badass vid uncle Ray!!!!
Love your videos Raymond. Blessings Robert.
very cool
Fricking love square body chevy’s. Awesome vidja choice.
Keep it coming boss we want to see more Uncle Ray!
The noise when you let off the throttle is impellor flutter, or waste gate chatter, it's caused when the throttle shuts while on boost casing the turbo impeller to stall, causing the noise 👍
" Other Then That "🤣🤣🤣🤣 it was a good video
Way cool!!
Great video! You should do more videos
I love that you do older car restorations per say even tho you specialize in exotics.
1:03 Who saw the cameraman from the side window😅 Thank you bro you made awesome
Yes indeed brother they are so fn hard asf n hard asf 2 find
Uncle Ray Ray ..Greetings from Aruba 👍🥳 love the vids👍
nice job uncle RayRay keep making these videos
I remember the year the syclone and typhoon came out they had them at the U.S. Nationals in Indianapolis running them against that years corvette and they were walking the corvettes.
Uncle Ray I am worried about you two uploads in one week. lol 😂💕
I wish I could afford the Typhoon. I can’t even afford my 04 Silverado. 😂😂😂
I love the typhoons always wanted one
I had that same steering issue in my truck and I replaced all the same parts and it ended up being a joint in the steering shaft that connects to the steering wheel to the steering box there is a joint in that shaft they make a kit and you can cut the old joint out and put a better-made one in and it takes the slop out
Typhoon and Syclone where way ahead of their time imo. My brother is looking for a Typhoon atm
🔥
🔥🔥🔥
Nice video Uncle RayRay
Love that thing
A true American classic truck!!
FINALLY I have been eyeballing this in the background And even Asked about it...but like usual your thumbs must be too rich to respond to a fan and supporter of your channel since day 1... Awesome Awesome Ride!!! I literally built several models when I was i dunno 10? I'm 41 meow! Can't wait till you put your touch on it WOW !👍🏽👍🏽
Raymond is the man
Ray, get a led light panel from b&h in NY that is daylight balanced for your bonnet shots and under car shots when filmed in the shop or at night We can’t see the details, I use MANFROTTO lycos lights , have a few of them they are great, Best wishes from the UK
Uncle ray ray sorry I'm 21 hours late YSOB appreciate the amazing content keep it up
May want to look under the driver dash, and take out that aftermarket Alarm....To prevent future problems 👍🏽
I like how uncle ray ray re builds cars like this and his Mercedes

Thanks for picking up the camera again👍
still on my list of one day I will buy one
Just seen your Charlie Brown van on the freeway passing whiterock . Lol
I know a guy who's got 2 black typhoons and 2 black cyclones and also 2 Buick grand nationals. All in original condition southern cars.

Orange GT is gonzo...
Float like a butterfly sting like a ray.
Always remember back when these trucks were first brought out how quick they were compared to some super cars and thinking I need one just to embarrass a few fast cars😉
Typhoon is cool I have always been a syclone fan
